This is the guy who made that map. He's been rotting a CCP gulag for the last four years (assuming he's still alive) for making that map.
Jacob Pius is a staunch Roman Catholic..
(4/4) To put this in perspective, the SSTF brought in about $655 billion from 2017-2025. Not bad, right? Well, until you contrast the counterfactual where the SSTF was fully invested in the S&P 500 whose annual rate of return over the same period was 12.5%; in that case, the SSTF would have raked in $3.2 -- actually it would be much more because the principle of the SSTF would also have greatly increased.

(1/4) The problem that's causing social security to go broke is not that there are too few workers supporting too many boomers who are receiving excessively high SS payments. It's that the other side of the government uses the Social Security Trust Fund as a slush fund. That is, the SSTF is forced to invest in low-interest government T-bills.
(3/4) Thus I can see why it's running on fumes. But apparently it's a law that they're only allowed to invest in U.S. government securities. The problem is since at least 1990, the interest rates on social security securities have steadily declined. The last time the interest rate was above 3% was 2016. Since then (2017-2025) the average rate of return was 2.6%; keep in mind these are nominal rates; in real terms, the rate of return is zero, optimistically.

QUAD A-10 REPORT:
QUAD units engaged and brought down @En_chinaNews a pro-China X account with 50 thousand followers that specialized in English-language propaganda, AI fake video news stories and notably fake/misattributed quotes from Chinese officials. It has now been suspended by X for violating the platform's rules.
WELL DONE TEAM!
ACES UP!
@C_3C_3 This⬆️ is intolerable
The us Const. allows states to manage elections,
... but Californians are American citizens, & normal, legal Californian voters are having their votes
diluted/discounted/negated
by this blatant unconstitutional behavior by CA elections "officials.
RICO!
I'll get all Asimovian now but the death of a civilisation has a massive inertia and it's very hard to stop. You need a lot of people working to stop it, or a carefully judged shove at a pivot point, as @elonmusk did with X.
SpaceX benefits if a competitor develops AGI—or at least AI so close enough to it that it’s incredibly useful. SpaceX is building more compute capacity than Earth alone can handle, & as long as someone pays for it, SpaceX will do incredibly well.
@WarrenPlatts@Francis76243108@GordonGChang Step #1 is to close down all 4 ChiCom consulates (NY, Chi, LA, San Fran) --
and when they reciprocate and close down our 5 consulates over there --
-- SO MUCH THE BETTER.
@learning_yohei@spicymamajapan There have been studies in the U.S. where they compared the performance of jelly displays that had 35 different flavors versus displays that only had 6 flavors. The displays with only 6 flavors consistently outsold the 35 flavor displays on average...
