The thrill-ride of the @HawaiiMBB team’s postseason came to a screeching halt in a 97-78 loss to Arkansas in the first round of the NCAA Championship Tournament on Thursday at Portland, Ore.
Hawai’i, which was the No. 13 seed in the West Region, completed its season at 24-9.

The @HawaiiMBB program will represent @BigWestSports in the NCAA Championship Tournament. This is the Rainbow Warriors' final season as a member of the Big West; they will move to the Mountain West Conference next season.

The Rainbow Warriors improved to 23-8, including 3-0 against the Titans this season.

Cal State Fullerton defeated UC Davis, 82-70, in a quarterfinal game. @HawaiiMBB will face Fullerton in a semifinal game on Friday. The Rainbow Warriors are 2-0 against the Titans this season.
Twenty-five years ago, Troy Ostler helped lead the @HawaiiMBB team to an unexpected Western Athletic Conference championship and a spot in the NCAA Tournament. He is now a high school basketball coach in Las Vegas, and the Warriors practiced at his school's gym on Wednesday.
