Today is the workplace day of action for Palestine, so this morning staff and students came together to do some leafleting at the central bus interchange. Join us at 2pm @ FAB 0.03 for the launch of our report on the @uniofwarwick ties to arms companies.
Our report on the @uniofwarwick complicity in genocide, the arms trade and apartheid in Occupied Palestine is now available online at the following link: https://t.co/SPT9VGpTeP
Please share widely. [1/6]
@WarwickUCU early morning leafleting at the bus stops, mobilising for a lunchtime vigil for Palestine and Lebanon, happening at 12.30 today outside Rootes. #ceasefirenow @ucu @The_TUC @coventrytuc
We did some leafletting this morning, as part of the National Day of Action for Palestine and Lebanon, and we are meeting again at 12:30 outside of Rootes for a vigil. Please join if you are on campus.

Finally, the University’s ongoing silence is deafening; especially compared to its vocal opposition to the invasion of Ukraine. Picking and choosing which victims the university wants to acknowledge and support is not apolitical, but in fact deeply political.
Expecting staff to work as if it is business as usual, while we watch Israel invade Lebanon, after a year-long genocide against Palestinians, centres productivity instead of staff and student wellbeing.
We call on the University to make additional support and resources available to staff and students who are affected by the wars in Palestine and Lebanon.
Reminder for all members & wannabe members that our social is on Wednesday, October 2 at 4:30
&
A PGR event is happening on October 9 at 3!
so save the dates & see you there ❤️🔥
We are also concerned that while Palestine solidarity has been heavily policed on our campus over the past year, this event has not been subjected to the same scrutiny. This is yet another instance of the University’s prioritisation of profit over its students and staff.
We have found out that a right-wing conservative event is taking place on @uniofwarwick campus over the next two days, hosting a number of reactionary speakers, known for their racist and misogynistic views. Books reflecting these views are also being sold at the event. [1/3]
While we welcome @uniofwarwick signposting available support, we are disappointed that the University has called the riots ‘acts of disorder’ and that they have not recognised the distinct risk that this poses to Muslim and racialised staff and students.
It has been deeply distressing to witness acts of disorder in some parts of the UK over recent days. There is no place for racism in our community or elsewhere. If you are affected, please know that you’re not alone. Support is available for our community: https://t.co/cAC0rxfIaU
As a branch we believe that racist ideologies have no place on our campus or in our society, and as such we are deeply troubled by the footage of @uniofwarwick students singing along to a Nazi marching song ‘Erika’. [1/3]
At an all members meeting yesterday we passed a motion expressing solidarity with staff and students affected by this incident, particularly Jewish staff and students and all staff and students from groups targeted by the Nazis. [2/3]
