Some Year 7 and Year 8 students enjoyed finding out about the real-life story of local WWI hero Arthur Cornell, told by historian Dr Bill Smith from @WarWorkshops. They had fun getting hands-on with artefacts helping to bring their History studies to life.

@pfurs Here's an odd connection ... on Monday I shall be working with students in North Yorks. on the local impact of the First World War ... and one of the stories we will look at will be that (I think ...) of Richard's grandfather ... also Richard Butler!

There is a Samuel Smith in Keighley married to Susannah (Hindle) in the 1911 census living on Wellington Street.

Previously AVC SE/15354.
Posted to France AVC in Apl 16 and transferred to Dukes Sep 17.
Leave to England from Italy Jul 18.
To England for demob Mar 19.
