(Dobbs) A Schoolyard Bully In An Old Man’s Body
There are days when existential issues of war and peace all rest on what kind of a mood the man is in.
@afshinrattansi US is infected with a disease that is hollowing out the country while it attacks other countries wasting money on wrong priorities. Meanwhile after the Boomers weaker gens successively follow because of failing education system.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte:
‘I strongly believe in the 21st century that you should not attack another country like the Russians have done with Ukraine….’
Has this hypocrite ever once applied the same principle to the US and all of its many attacks on sovereign states?
On our Monday show @chrismartenson estimated we would reach this SPR-decision-point moment by about 11 July. Looks to be right about on schedule.
Why President Trump took this moment to prove how tough he is and blast Iran “20-1” response and canceling the energy sanctions waiver on Iranian oil sales - knowing it would thrust us to the edge of energy crisis point is unclear.
Almost seems as if he’s *trying* to spark a recession (or worse)…
It is fitting that Trump is renewing the US bombing of Iran while removing Syria from the State Sponsor of Terrorism (SST) list.
Syria is ruled by Ahmed al-Sharaa, fka Mohammad al-Jolani, a former leader of Al Qaeda and ISIS -- the two main official enemies of the so-called "war on terror." So how does Syria get removed from the terror list?
After Trump met with al-Sharaa today and announced the SST rescission, Sen. Lindsey Graham explained the reasoning:
"President Al Sharaa has been a true thorn in the side of Iran. He has dramatically reduced Iran’s influence in Syria... It is time to recognize what he’s done regarding Iran and give him the capability to improve the lives of the Syrian people."
Graham is referring to the fact that Syria, under Al Sharaa's post-Assad rule, has cut off Iran's land bridge to arm Hezbollah in Lebanon. In the 2006 war, this land bridge was integral to Hezbollah's defense against Israeli aggression. Twenty years later, after regime change in Syria and amid a new Israeli assault on Lebanon, Hezbollah is more vulnerable now that Syria is no longer an ally.
Iran is more vulnerable too. As the pro-Israel Washington Institute for Near East Policy recently noted, “the current U.S.-Israeli campaign against Iran would have been even more difficult if Assad were still in power.”
For making the current US-Israeli campaign against Iran and Hezbollah a lot easier, Syria is being rewarded with the lifting of crippling US sanctions that hurt the Syrian people. And those still resisting Israeli aggression are getting bombed.
This is one of at least 12 images of “war porn” posted by President Trump allegedly showing the results of the strikes he ordered in Iran tonight.
Lusting after the carnage of other people’s death and destruction in a war he chose — a war that was illegal, immoral, and unethical (and wholly unnecessary for our national security) — is reprehensible behavior.
Even in those rare circumstances when war is necessary and thrust upon us, killing other people should be gravely considered action and only undertaken as a last resort. Under no circumstances should the nation’s president *relish* ordering the deaths of others.
That is evidence of a heart that *enjoys* killing and thus it’s more likely he’ll continue to do so… with or without justification.
JUST IN: 🇺🇸🇮🇷 Secretary of War Hegseth hinted at restarting the war with Iran:
“Tonight, if we need to, on your order Mr President, we will hit even more and even deeper because that's the consequence.”
President Trump: "We may put down the blockade, we may put it back, it will only be blockade for Iran, anyone else can have whatever they want.".
