NOTE: As an investigative journalist, advocate to unheard voices in Balochistan, particularly the women rights, I have always stayed active to raise their stories and reach-out to the concerned platforms. If Islamic Relief’s internal complaints mechanism was fair to hearing grievances of its internal employees to resolve their issues based on their legal rights. I could not have made efforts at reaching you out here.
All words said in the content are based on facts, and I am sensitive about the data/facts provision. When needed, more evidence based information of unfair and corrupt practices could also be made part of this thread.
I have been closely following Islamic Relief’s activism at transforming lives in Balochistan and I immensely appreciate your efforts in this regard, but with the current extreme misconducts by the country office higher management and their deployed hands in Balochistan to deprive local potential, Islamic Relief’s mission to transforming lives in Pakistan could bring you with no good end.
As an activist, I would always be there to support positive works of Islamic Relief for making its efforts for human cause in Balochistan.
The department leads deployment of none-locals in Balochistan office portrays a very clear picture of country higher management's intentions at lobbying in combined efforts to gain financial aims.
I appreciate your attention to these matters and trust that Islamic Relief Headquarters will take swift and decisive action to rectify the situation and uphold the organization's values and principles.
Potential employees/citizens have deep concerns regarding the mismanagement and lack of response to serious complaints within Islamic Relief's accountability mechanism.
It has come to my attention that several employees within the Balochistan office have filed complaints through Islamic Relief's internal accountability and complaint platforms regarding various issues, including but not limited to, the discriminatory hiring practices, violations of safeguarding policies, and nepotism in the awarding of contracts. Unfortunately, these complaints have not received satisfactory responses or actions from the relevant authorities within the organization.
The failure to address these complaints in a timely and effective manner not only undermines the trust and confidence of employees in Islamic Relief but also perpetuates a culture of impunity and disregard for accountability within the organization. It is imperative that Islamic Relief takes these complaints seriously and ensures that they are thoroughly investigated and resolved in accordance with the organization's policies and values.
Furthermore, the lack of transparency and accountability in addressing these complaints raises serious questions about the effectiveness of Islamic Relief's internal mechanisms for accountability and oversight. Employees must feel safe and empowered to raise concerns about unethical or illegal practices within the organization, and it is essential that Islamic Relief provides adequate support and protection to whistleblowers who come forward with information about misconducts and unfair approaches.
In light of these concerns, I urge Islamic Relief Headquarters to conduct a thorough investigation into the management practices of the Country Office in Balochistan and take appropriate action to address any violations of organizational policies and principles. It is essential that Islamic Relief reaffirms its commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in all its operations, particularly in contexts as sensitive as Balochistan.
Serious concerns regarding Islamic Relief Pakistan's country office higher management practices in Balochistan.🚫
Dear @IRWorldwide
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention some serious concerns regarding the management practices of Islamic Relief's country office in Balochistan. As a supporter of Islamic Relief's mission to provide humanitarian assistance and promote sustainable development, I am deeply troubled by the recent revelations regarding the office's actions.
First and foremost, there have been numerous reports indicating that the higher management of the country office in Pakistan’s capital city has been actively involved in restricting the hiring of local talent from Balochistan. This practice not only contradicts Islamic Relief's commitment to inclusivity and diversity but also severely undermines the potential of the local community to contribute meaningfully to the organization's efforts in the region. It is imperative that Islamic Relief upholds its principles of non-discrimination and equal opportunity in all aspects of its operations.
Furthermore, there have been alarming instances of extreme violations of Islamic Relief's safeguarding, protection, and inclusion policies by the country office management. These violations pose serious risks to the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals, including women and children, who are supposed to be the primary beneficiaries of Islamic Relief's programs. Some of the internal staff, particularly female have been allegedly kept deprived in the hiring process, and hiring has been made based on political approaches. Such actions not only tarnish the reputation of Islamic Relief but also betray the trust of the communities it serves.
Additionally, it has come to my attention that the country office management has been practicing nepotism by awarding contracts to vendors and consultants based on personal choices, relationships, or financial ties, rather than merit. This nepotistic approach not only undermines the integrity of the procurement process but also deprives qualified individuals and businesses, particularly those from Balochistan, of opportunities for meaningful engagement and participation in the organization's projects. Such practices not only breed inefficiency but also perpetuate injustice and inequality within the organization.
