My new custom Kogla pad just arrived! 🤩
Huge thanks to @dxstiny26 for helping me get this pad.
And huge thanks to @anirrie_ for letting me use her artwork for the custom 🥹
Really happy with how it turned out, it looks so good!
What an incredible pad! The Seraph from @StaticeHQ. I got the uncoated version, and paired with the KIBU x Waizowl Shiro skates, it feels smooth and fast, while still giving a very subtle amount of feedback. You can feel it a bit more during fast movements or when applying more pressure to the pad.
I haven't noticed any pushdown effect, but I also don't have any trouble stopping a flick when needed. The fact that you get slightly more feedback from the surface when applying more pressure helps you stop when you need to.
(It’s not a review, just my first impressions after playing few hours on the pad)
Here are my first impressions of the Hachiware Zero:
The pad feels really smooth with little to no push-down, depending on the skates. I’d say it’s a balanced control pad, but the speed changes quite a lot depending on the skates you use.
The texture feel and push-down change slightly too, but nothing compared to the difference in speed. It’s pretty much the opposite of the Uncle Panda Atlantis in that regard.
I tested it with 4 different skates:
-Stock Pulsar X2H Mini CL skates
-Pulsar UPE skates
-Waizowl x KIBU Karahuto skates
-Ultraglide Ultraspeed skates
- The stock X2H skates are by far the slowest. They make the pad feel control, almost as slow as the Atlantis, but without the push-down or texture.
The pad feels smooth during micro-adjustments, and even during longer movements or flicks it stays smooth, but you can still feel the surface through the skates. I never found the pad to feel floaty with any of the skates. It stays smooth, but it's still easy to tell where you're moving the mouse.
The pushdown effect is basically impossible to feel. I never noticed it while gaming, and it's extremely subtle even when applying quite a lot of force, way more than I would normally use in game.
- The Pulsar UPE are faster, making the pad feel more balanced control. These skates also give more of a "stuck to the pad" feeling, almost like you're being slightly pulled towards the surface. They make the Atlantis feel muddy, for example. The surface feedback is slightly more noticeable and you can get a very slight pushdown effect.
This time, you can actually feel the pushdown a little when pressing hard to stop a flick. So the glide is faster, but personally I find it even easier to stop the mouse with these.
- The Karahutos are another step up in speed, making the pad feel balanced. They're smoother than the stock X2H skates. During micro-adjustments, there's almost no texture feedback at all. With faster movements or when putting more pressure on the mouse, you start feeling the surface again through the skates, but it still feels smooth.
The pushdown is even weaker than with the X2H stock skates. You need to apply a ridiculous amount of force to get maybe 1-2% more control from it, so I'd basically say there's no pushdown.
The Ultraspeeds are the fastest and smoothest of the 4, making the pad feel balanced speed. The surface feels even smoother during micro-adjustments compared to the Karahutos.
During longer or faster movements, you get very light surface feedback. It still feels smooth, but there's slightly more feedback compared to micro-adjustments. Still the smoothest feeling out of the 4.
As for the pushdown, there's basically none.
I also did some drop tests out of curiosity, but there’s nothing really precise about them. I don’t even know the exact test angles, so take these results with a huge grain of salt xd.
At a low incline, just a bit past the point where the mice start sliding, the order from slowest to fastest was:
Pulsar UPE < stock X2H < Ultraspeed < Karahuto
At a steeper incline, around 30-35°+, the order was:
stock X2H < Pulsar UPE < Karahuto ≤ Ultraspeed
Thanks to everyone taking the time to read this!
It’s my first little review, so any feedback is more than welcome, whether it’s about the format, the actual content, or even the terminology I use.
I’m still learning, so feel free to point out anything that could be improved 🙏
