YES. The aim of recycling is to reduce the number of batteries being disposed as municipal solid waste. Batteries contain toxic chemicals and disposing of them by the same process as regular household waste has raised concern over soil contamination and water pollution.
Cold batteries discharge faster than hot batteries. It thickens oil, making it harder to turn the engine. Most batteries can explode if temperature is too hot. Its best to use batteries near room temperature to ensure they last long as possible.
