@freemanchari@nigelchanakira Very touching thread, my brother Freeman. I can relate to it very well. Our financial system does not support start-ups, no matter how promising the ideas can be.
In 2014 I wanted to open a clinic in Mutare. I visited all the banks in Mutare, and it was the same story....
No woman should die of cervical cancer, no one.
Cervical cancer is one of the most successfully treatable, most preventable and entirely curable type of cancer, as long as it is detected early and managed effectively yet it is the most frequently occurring cancer and is the number one cause of cancer-related deaths among Zimbabwean and African women.
According to latest figures from Wealth Health Organisation (WHO), all but one of the top 20 countries worldwide with the highest burden of cervical cancer are in Africa.
The burden of cervical cancer including poor survival rate is still very high in Zimbabwe like any other African country. Majority of cervical cancer patients present late for treatment, when cervical cancer has reached an advanced stage, resulting in increased premature deaths.
Every sexually active woman must therefore be screened for cervical cancer, so that if that if cancer is found, its diagnosed early and treated/cured. Screening is free.
