The Cessna 172 Skyhawk has arrived to the Cold War Gallery. Plans call for the final placement on Monday. This was the only civilian aircraft authorized to fly in and around New York City on September 12, 2001.

Thursday afternoon, Capt Phill Peters, a pilot from the South Sound Squadron, took advantage of the weather to give three cadets orientation rides in a Cessna 182. Cadets took turns sitting in the front while flying over southeast Washington state.

#CAPCadet Senior Airman Andre Danielson learns about the boom control systems of a KC-135 Stratotanker used in aerial refueling operations. This was part of a military orientation flight on May 15 for #CivilAirPatrol members of our Spangdahlem Cadet Squadron in Germany.
On Memorial Day, we remember those who have died in service to our country in the U.S. military.
We also thank the many #CivilAirPatrol volunteers for showing their respects today by visiting cemeteries and memorials and participating in parades nationwide.

Today is #NationalFitnessDay! Fitness is an integral part of our cadet program. #CivilAirPatrol cadets look forward to meetings to engage in physical activity with fellow cadets. They often compete in soccer, Frisbee, and other sports on physical training nights.

The Southwest Group coordinated a Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX) this past Saturday. The SAREX incorporated trainees from across the wing. Event planners provided the training for Ground Teams, Aircrew, Mission Base Staff, and sUAS (drone) teams. #civilairpatrol
