TRUTH BEHIND ADDICTION:
When I, a chronic pain pt take pain med my mu receptor opens/ unlocks. When med reaches saturation my mu receptor closes/ locks. In addicts the mu receptor will remain open/ unlocked. It has nothing to do with being weak or lack of will power. Facts.

@aander1987 I HATE this stat “Nationwide, more than 700,000 people fatally overdosed on drugs between 1999 and 2017”..This is ALL DRUGS! Not just legal & safe #opioids. It’s everything from a baby aspirin to antibiotics to illicit drugs. Saying it their way adds to the drama. #opioidhysteria

@StopBadDocs Yes! I found that I had to go to my pcp about new/worse pain and she would talk with pain management and order imaging. Stupid because it basically boiled down to more $$ out of pocket for me because they didn’t believe me and she does.

@KamalaHarris You mean more likely die from ILLEGAL #opioids. Stop implying safe/legal FDA approved meds are the issue. Opioid prescribing-the lowest since 2010 yet ILLEGAL ODs at a record high-will cont to climb. Gov’t needs to get out of the MD office. #painpatientsvote so do friends& family
