For #ValentinesDay , here's a heart from our collection! This bow brooch has a central enamel flower & a gold heart pendant (holding plaited hair!) hanging on 5 'heart strings'. It is inscribed "M.H.H. 27 June 1874". Mrs Hull Grundy, a jewellery collector, donated it to us.
Who received a Valentine's Day card today? This intricate heart-shaped home-made card was sent to 22yr old Speen milkman Noah Jennings, in 1847. The card is anonymous but the postmark on the envelope suggests it may have been posted in Speen. So possibly a local admirer...??😍 🥰
