Not sure what to make of the massive #BuildBackBetterAct that just passed the House? There are investments that will make a positive impact, things we fought for that didn't make it, and bad things that will harm our communities. Read on for the Good, the Bad, & the Ugly in BBBA:
Hundreds of people joined the Lisjan Ohlone people tonight in a mural painting and candlelight vigil to protect the West Berkeley Shellmound Sacred Site, one of the earliest known Ohlone settlements in the Bay. #SaveTheShellmounds#SacredNotForSale@WBShellmound@davidsolnit

This morning, the property owners sent hired workers to remove and trash these ribbons and messages offering prayers in protection of the shellmound. This is anti-Indigenous violence. Please support the Shellmound and donate to our legal fund! https://t.co/f0PGWjY4Zp
The West Berkeley Shellmound, a 5,700 sacred Ohlone burial site, where Indigenous peoples have lived and prayed for thousands of years, has been imprisoned by thousands of feet of razor wire fencing, & security cameras by property developers.
#ProtectTheSacred
Since the fencing went up, Lisjan Ohlone and Indigenous leaders called for prayers in protection of the sacred everywhere. Hundreds of community supporters tied ribbons and messages to the fencing over the past week.
