The effect of hydrostatic shock is witnessed in the slow-motion videos of the shooting. It's easy to see his neck, face, and spine bulge and distort immediately following impact, which is hydrostatic displacement. The energy of the impact was distributed through soft tissue instead of explosively rupturing. I've killed several deer with my Winchester Model 70, chambered in 30-06, and have yet to have an explosive exit wound. I've actually seen very few exit wounds, most of the time the bullet fragments remain in the body.

You have no idea how updrafts, downdrafts, heat plumes, etc. affected the travel. It wasn't enough to alter the ultimate trajectory but it may have affected the angle, impact facing, and behavior of the projectile enough to influence the behavior after impact. It's an element which cannot be accounted for accurately, one every recreation will be missing.

It would be literally impossible to completely accurately replicate the shot. Even if you could, there's no way to fully account for how the bullet traveled in air and how that affected the impact, deflection, and subsequent wound cavity. No two humans have the same bone and muscle structure. There's no way to position ballistic gel or a dead animal to accurately represent the engaged muscles, angled bones, etc. of a human in motion at the time of impact. These inane theories are becoming absurd to a level of insanity.
