सरला भट्ट अनंतनाग की रहने वाली थीं। वह श्रीनगर के शेर-ए-कश्मीर इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ मेडिकल साइंसेज (SKIMS), सौरा में स्टाफ नर्स थीं।

18 अप्रैल 1990 को सरला रोज की तरह ड्यूटी पर जा रही थीं। इसी दौरान अस्पताल परिसर के पास से उन्हें उठा लिया गया। चार दिन तक अलग-अलग जगह रखा गया।

इस दौरा��� बुरी तरह टॉर्चर किया गया, उन्हें आरे से का -taa गया और अंततः Go /ली maa ₹ कर उनकी 'त्या कर दी।

सरला के गायब होने के चार दिन बाद उसका शव श्रीनगर के डाउनटाउन इलाके में मिला।
शरीर पर Go /लियों के कई निशान थे। टॉर्चर के भी निशान थे। शव के पास मिले एक नोट में उन्हें सुरक्षाबलों का मुखबिर बताया गया था।

आज 36 साल बाद उनके क़ातिल के खिलाफ chargesheet दाखिल हुई है..... सजा भी होगी..... यह तय है.
