We have published our five year strategy.
20 Millions Reasons.
Let's work together to improve the MSK health of the nation.

MSK health is about more than healthcare. It’s about opportunity, independence and prosperity.
Today, we launch ARMA’s new paper "MSK Health: The Foundation of a Thriving Nation."
With 21.3 million people in the UK living with an MSK condition, we’re calling for:
🔹 A national MSK strategy
🔹 MSK health embedded across policy
🔹 Coordinated local action
Better MSK health helps build a thriving nation.

It’s #WorldOsteoporosisDay. Osteoporosis can be a hidden condition. You may not know your bones are becoming weaker until a fracture changes your life.
For some people, a fracture can mean pain, loss of independence, time away from work and a long road to recovery. For older people in particular, a fracture can profoundly affect their ability to live independently.
But osteoporosis isn't an inevitable part of ageing, and we can protect bone health, identify risk, and reduce the likelihood of fractures.
Today, we're raising awareness of osteoporosis and the 3.5 million people living with it — because behind the statistics are real people, families and lives changed by fragile bones.
On the last day of #BoneAndJointWeek, we're highlighting another #20MillionReasons to make MSK health a priority.
This World Paediatric Bone and Joint Day, we’re recognising all the children and young people who live with bone and joint conditions too. For some, these conditions can have a profound, lasting impact on their lives.
Growing up with pain, disability or a condition that affects mobility can mean facing challenges that other children and young people may never have to consider. It can affect education, friendships, independence, family life, and the simple things that make childhood what it should be.
As part of #BoneAndJointWeek, we’re remembering that behind our #20MillionReasons are millions of individual people, including children and young people, whose lives are shaped by MSK conditions.
Every child deserves the opportunity to grow, learn, play and live their life to the fullest.
20 million people. 20 million reasons to make MSK health a priority.

Movement matters at every stage of life. Movement, strength and balance can help prevent MSK problems before they become pain, disability and loss of independence.
But for people already living with an MSK condition, movement can be even more important.
The right movement, supported by the right advice and treatment, can help people manage symptoms, maintain strength and mobility, build confidence, and stay independent.
Because movement isn't just about preventing problems. For millions of people living with an MSK condition, it can be part of living well with one.
And that's one of our #20MillionReasons to make MSK health a priority.
20 million people. 20 million reasons. #BoneAndJointWeek
Today is #WorldTraumaDay.
Behind every traumatic injury is a person.
A person whose life can change in an instant. Someone who may face pain, disability, loss of independence, time away from work, or a long journey of rehabilitation and recovery.
During #BoneAndJointWeek, we’re thinking about all those people, and the 20 million people across the UK living with an MSK condition.
Because 20 million reasons means 20 million individual lives, experiences, and stories.
This World Trauma Day, we’re recognising the people behind the statistics and the healthcare professionals who support them through some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
20 million people. 20 million reasons to prioritise MSK health.

Our spines support us through every stage of life, from learning and working to caring, moving, and staying independent.
This World Spine Day, the theme “Spine Health for Life” reminds us that protecting spinal function and mobility is a lifelong priority. Staying active, building strength, and getting timely support for back or spinal problems can help people keep doing what matters to them.
Everyone should have access to prevention, rehabilitation, pain support, and joined-up MSK care that helps them move well throughout life. #WorldSpineDay #20MillionReasons #BoneAndJointWeek
For too many people, living without a diagnosis means limited understanding of what is happening and means they’re unable to access treatment. For many people, MSK pain is not only physical.
It’s not surprising then that people living with an MSK condition experience poorer mental health than those without.
A cross-cutting MSK strategy would help shift care to focus on the whole person, not just pain, function and mobility, but also the mental health and emotional wellbeing aspects of living with an MSK condition.
There are #20MillionReasons to treat MSK health and mental health together. #BoneAndJointWeek
Thank you @DavidReedMP for securing the debate, for your honest, moving speech on bone and joint health, and for recognising ARMA's work.
Your story shows why early diagnosis and treatment matter. You also make a strong case for MSK health's contribution to population health and the economy.
We share your call for national leadership. 20 million people deserve a national MSK strategy and action.
#20MillionReasons
Where you live, the support around you, and the pressures you face can shape how an MSK condition affects your life. In England’s most deprived areas, 21.8% of adults report a long-term MSK condition, compared with 14.4% in the least deprived areas.
Behind that gap are people managing pain while working, caring for family or trying to stay independent -often with fewer local services, longer waits and less access to early support.
Everyone should have a fair chance to get help early and live well. We need accessible local services shaped with the people and communities facing the greatest barriers.
There are #20MillionReasons to build a fairer system for MSK health. #BoneAndJointWeek
Today, for #BoneAndJointWeek, we went to Parliament and championed the 20 million people living with an MSK condition. The room was full of brilliant conversations, and it was inspiring to bring so many people together.
Thank you to @SoniaKumarMP for sponsoring, and thank you to everyone who attended!
We’re delighted that later today, @DavidReedMP for Exmouth & Exeter East will shine a light on MSK conditions during his adjournment debate on ‘Bone and Joint Health’.
On the day, when almost 100 attendees headed to Parliament to say that there are #20MillionReasons to champion MSK health, a parliamentary debate is a brilliant way to end the day.
Thank you for speaking up for the 20 million people.
#20MillionReasons #BoneAndJointWeek
Yesterday we set out the scale: 20 million people living with MSK conditions in the UK.
Today, we're taking that message to Parliament, because these 20 million stories need a national response.
We’re calling for a cross-cutting MSK strategy that would help government deliver on prevention, healthy ageing, work and health, neighbourhood care and reducing inequalities. #20MillionReasons #BoneAndJointWeek
We know that this #BoneAndJointWeek represents the 20 million people living with an MSK condition. But what exactly are MSK conditions? They affect the bones, joints, muscles, spine and connective tissues. #20MillionReasons to champion better MSK care.

It's #WorldArthritisDay 💙
When people hear “arthritis”, they often picture achy knees or fingers.. but rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is much more than that.
Many people with RA live with persistent morning stiffness, swollen joints and chronic fatigue that can affect every part of daily life - often without anyone around them realising. However, early diagnosis and treatment make a real difference!

The first day of #BoneAndJointWeek is #WorldArthritisDay. 10 million people in the UK live with arthritis. Arthritis can make life tough by causing pain and making it harder to get about. Did you know it can affect people of all ages – including children and teenagers? Today, our message is simple: MSK health is not a niche issue. It shapes how people move, work, care and live.
Today is #WorldArthritisDay and the start of #BoneAndJointWeek.
Paula shares how psoriatic arthritis (PsA) once affected every aspect of her daily life. Watch her full story during #PsoriasisAwarenessWeek.
Arthritis affects 10 million people across the UK. MSK health shapes how people move, work and live.
Tomorrow we'll join @ARMA_UK in Parliament to call for a cross-cutting MSK strategy.
Today is the start of #BoneAndJointWeek. Did you know there are around 20 million people in the UK living with a musculoskeletal condition?
While some develop later in life, many begin during working age and can affect people throughout the life course.
This year, our message is simple: ‘there are #20MillionReasons to act on MSK health’.
