Commander Saleh Muhammad Registani, a senior military figure in the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, has returned to the country after several years.

He fought the Soviet invasion and occupation in the 1980s and the Taliban and Al Qaeda terrorist groups in the 1990s. Today we published his video message from inside Afghanistan. The resistance against terror and tyranny continues, and it is growing by the day.

Since 2021, the people of Afghanistan, our neighbors and regional countries, and the international community have given the Taliban chance after chance to change course. They have wasted every one of them. At the same time, geopolitical shifts in the region and around the world have created conditions that has made the demise of the Taliban inevitable.

The NRF is therefore intensifying its efforts and pursuing a clear strategy for the liberation of Afghanistan. Our goal is a democratic, pluralistic, and decentralized Afghanistan where all citizens are treated equally, whatever their gender, ethnicity, religious belief, or background. We want an Afghanistan free of terrorism and at peace with itself and its neighbors, a country that can become a source of security, stability, and prosperity for all its neighbors and the globe at large.

After more than a century of war, oppression, extremism, and tyranny, Afghanistan deserves a new chapter of freedom, peace, democracy, and dignity for all its citizens.

Decree of the Leadership of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan

In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

In order to better organize military affairs, strengthen coordination within the structure of the Military Headquarters, and in consideration of the record, experience, and responsibilities of Mr. Saleh Mohammad Registani, he is hereby appointed as:

Commander General of Operations of the Military Headquarters of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan.

All officials, commanders, and relevant departments of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan are expected, within the framework of the Front’s structure and regulations, to provide the necessary cooperation and coordination with him in carrying out the responsibilities entrusted to him.

I pray to Almighty God to grant Mr. Saleh Mohammad Registani health, perseverance, honor, and ever greater success in fulfilling this important responsibility and in serving the people and the homeland.

احمد مسعود در کتاب خود از شاه شاهان، کوروش بزرگ، و استوانه‌ی وی سخن می‌گوید و بر تأثیر تمدن پارسی بر منطقه تأکید می‌ورزد. او این فرهنگ را میراثی متعلق به تمام ساکنان این حوزه تمدنی و فراتر از مرزهای افغانستان معرفی می‌کند.

احمد مسعود، از طالبان به عنوان مخالفان این تمدن یاد نموده و بر عدم سازگاری تفکر "قبیله‌" با ارزش‌های تمدن پارسی تأکید می‌نماید…

شماری از خواهران و برادران ایرانی پرسیده‌اند چرا پروفسور تورج دریایی، کوروش بزرگ و شهید احمدشاه مسعود را در یک قاب قرار داده و چرا بسیاری از ایرانیان با آن موافق‌اند. به باور من، انکار این پیوند یا ناشی از ناآگاهی از زندگی و اندیشۀ مسعود است، یا حاصل تلاش عناصری است که برای ایجاد شکاف در حوزۀ تمدنی ما در خدمت دستگاه‌های استخباراتی خارجی قرار دارند.

۱. شهید احمدشاه مسعود پیرو راستین مکتب کوروش بود.
کوروش نماد مدارا، کثرت‌گرایی و احترام به اقوام و ادیان است. مسعود نیز برای افغانستانی آزاد، دموکراتیک، چندفرهنگی و غیرمتمرکز مبارزه می‌کرد که هیچ گروهی قدرت را انحصار نکند.

در ۱۹۹۷، به ابتکار مسعود و دولت اسلامی افغانستان، اعلامیۀ اصول جبهۀ متحد به سازمان ملل سپرده شد که بر مردم‌سالاری، انتخابات، حقوق بشر، حقوق زنان و تمرکززدایی تأکید داشت. در ۲۰۰۰ نیز مسعود نخستین رهبر افغانستان بود که اعلامیۀ حقوق اساسی زنان را امضا کرد و بر حق زنان برای نامزد شدن در انتخابات تأکید نمود.

۲. مسلمان بودن م��عود او را از تمدن ایران خارج نمی‌کند.
تاریخ ایران در قادسیه پایان نیافت. فردوسی، رودکی، ابن‌سینا، بیرونی، مولانا، سعدی و حافظ همه در جهان ایرانی و اسلامی زیستند. حتی محمدرضا شاه پهلوی مسلمان بود. مخالفت با جمهوری اسلامی را نمی‌توان به نفی چهارده قرن تمدن ایرانی و اسلامی تبدیل کرد.

۳. ادعای «مسعود کابل را ویران کرد» تحریف تاریخ است.
مسعود در دهۀ ۱۹۹۰ وزیر دفاع دولت افغانستان بود؛ دولتی که کرسی افغانستان را در سازمان ملل حفظ کرده بود. وظیفۀ او دفاع از کابل بود، در حالی‌که گروه‌های دیگر با حمایت قدرت‌های منطقه‌ای پایتخت را راکت‌باران می‌کردند.

قضیه افشار نیز یک افسانه‌های جعلی است که سپاه پاسداران جمهوری اسلامی ایران و پاکستان ترویج کردند و اما خبرنگاران خارجی مثل پیتر جنینگ از خبرگزاری AP که شاهد عینی صحنه بود و محمد حسین جعفریان آن را تکذیب کردند و یک دروغ سازمان یافته در برابر فرمانده مسعود شمردند. این موضوع بطور مفصل در کتاب ناپلیون افغانستان سندی کال نگاشته شده است.

روزنامه‌نگاران و روشنفکران ایرانی که مخالف جمهوری اسلامی هستند و خود کابل آن دوران را دیده‌اند نیز شاهد این واقعیت‌ها بوده‌اند.

۴. استفاده از زمرد پنجشیر نیز استدلالی علیه مسعود نیست.
مقاومتی که نخست با شوروی و سپس با طالبان، القاعده و حامیان خارجی آنان می‌جنگید، به منابع مالی نیاز داشت. این منابع مقاومتی را حفظ می‌کرد که مانع سلطۀ کامل طالبان و القاعده شد.

۵. تاجیک‌ها بخشی از جهان فارسی و ایرانی‌اند.
تاجیک‌های افغانستان، تاجیکستان و ازبیکستان مردمانی فارسی‌زبان و ایرانی‌اند. کابل، بلخ�� هرات، بدخشان، پنجشیر، دوشنبه، بخارا و سمرقند پیش از مرزهای امروز بخشی از یک حوزۀ تمدنی مشترک بودند.

شهید احمدشاه مسعود برای تعلق به تمدن ایران به اجازۀ کسی نیاز ندارد. فارسی زبان او و ادبیات فارسی بخشی از جهان فکری او بود. اگر مدعی ایرانشهر هستید، نمی‌توانید محبوب‌ترین قهرمان میلیون‌ها تاجیک و فارسی‌زبان را تحقیر کنید.

۶. ایرانیان باید شهید احمدشاه مسعود را بخشی از تاریخ مشترک خود بدانند.
یک چه��ۀ معاصر دیگر از این حوزۀ تمدنی را نام ببرید که چند دهه پس از شهادتش در شهرهای بزرگ جهان خیابان و گذرگاه به نام او شود و نویسندگان از ملیت‌های مختلف این همه کتاب دربارۀ او بنویسند.

مسعود به دلیل مبارزه با اشغال، افراط‌گرایی و تروریسم به شخصیتی جهانی تبدیل شد. ایرانیان باید افتخار کنند که چنین چهره‌ای فرزند جهان فارسی و ایرانی بود.

۷. به کسانی که از حملات شما به مسعود استقبال می‌کنند نگاه کنید.
طالبان و حامیان‌شان از تخریب شهید احمدشاه مسعود استقبال می‌کنند؛ همان جریانی که علیه فارسی‌زبانان و هویت فارسی افغانستان می‌جنگد.

فکر می‌کنید این راهبرد هوشمندانه‌ای است؟ فکر می‌کنید آقای رضا پهلوی با تکیه بر حامیان طالبان و تنها اسرائیلی‌ها می‌تواند به قدرت برسد؟

اگر گفتمان شما فارسی‌زبانان را دور و طالبان را خوشحال می‌کند، باید پرسید این سیاست در خدمت چه کسانی است. به همین دلیل معتقدم عناصری وابسته به دستگاه‌های استخباراتی خارجی نیز برای ایجاد شکاف در حوزۀ تمدنی ما فعالیت دارند.

۸. دروغ‌ها میراث شهید احمدشاه مسعود را از بین نخواهند برد.
او بی‌عیب نبود و تص��یم‌هایش قابل نقد است؛ اما نقد با تحریف تاریخ تفاوت دارد.

«جنگ‌سالار» خواندن او، حذف جایگاهش به‌عنوان وزیر دفاع، نادیده گرفتن سند ۱۹۹۷، حمایت او از حقوق زنان و نسبت دادن یک جنگ چندجانبه به یک نفر، تاریخ‌نگاری نیست؛ تبلیغات ایدئولوژیک است.

کوروش، فردوسی، رودکی، ابن‌سینا و حافظ متعلق به این تمدن‌اند؛ و شهید احمدشاه مسعود نیز متعلق به همین تمدن است.
