I can explain @RetiumChain to any one in one sentence:

It's also a fully original architecture focused on logic, fairness, and modular execution.
One thing I respect about @RetiumChain is how clearly it defines itself.
The whitepaper states: "it is not a Layer 2, nor a fork or extension of an existing chain".
Starting with that clarity made every design decisions that followed much easier for me and anyone to understand.

As someone who likes reading protocol documentation, I appreciated seeing this stated so clearly: "Retium uses a WASM-based smart contract engine designed for deterministic, portable, and performance-optimized execution."
That helped me understand the execution layer much better

While I read through @RetiumChain's whitepaper, I learned Retium uses a WASM-based smart contract engine, allowing developers to build in Rust, C/C++, and AssemblyScript.
WASM ensures contract behavior is deterministic, portable, and optimized for performance.
I totally agree.
I just learned that Retium uses a fixed supply model with no ongoing inflation or block subsidies.
In addition, a small percentage of transaction fees is permanently burned, gradually reducing the circulating supply over time.
I honestly think that's an interesting tokenomics.
Retium uses role-specific validator responsibilities, allowing nodes to specialize instead of treating every validator as interchangeable.
The goal is to distribute workload securely while improving efficiency and scalability.
I think that's an underrated design choice.
