The Telegraph has uncovered multiple NHS policy documents and mental health bodies explicitly calling for a reduction in the detention of black patients, because they are 3.5–4 times more likely to be sectioned under the Mental Health Act than white patients.

Nine current and former psychiatrists say they’ve been encouraged to limit the number of black patients they section, in order to cut this “over‑representation”, and they describe these policies as “scientific illiteracy” and “jumping on bandwagons”.

In other words, doctors are being told to worry about the racial balance sheet as much as – or more than – the actual risk a psychotic patient poses to themselves or the public.

That is not medicine, it’s ideology with a stethoscope.

And when you put race politics ahead of clinical judgment, the inevitable result is more tragedies blamed on “systemic failures” rather than the one thing nobody is allowed to criticise: the anti‑racism framework itself.

Scotland Yard has been captured by a “woke mind virus”, with police no longer treating citizens equally under the law, says former chairman of the Metropolitan Police Federation Rick Prior.

In the foreword to the FSU’s new briefing, Fear and Favour: Britain’s Policing Emergency, Rick Prior writes:

“It has been clear to me that for more than a decade, the Met has been pursuing equity of outcome between ethnic groups rather than equality of opportunity and equal treatment under the law. I have seen it in the forced rotation of skilled firearms officers to manufacture ‘churn’ and diversify armed policing, at great cost in lost skills.

“I saw it in 2022, when two very senior officers were found by a tribunal to have racially discriminated against a white inspector, by removing him from a promotion process and inserting a less qualified black candidate instead.”

Rick argues that the force has prioritised equalising outcomes between ethnic groups over ensuring equality of opportunity and equal treatment under the law for more than a decade. He says this has led to a loss of skills and harmed the policing of London’s streets.

Mr Prior also said that, following the death of George Floyd in the US, the ideology of pursuing equal outcomes had “shifted from policy backrooms to operational policing through the London Race Action Plan”.

Last summer, Mr Prior joined the Met’s policy unit and was asked to help produce the force’s EDI policy. The Met ignored his recommendations.

Prior has called for free speech to be protected within legal boundaries.

He has sought to ensure that his ordeal — after he was suspended for warning on a GB News interview that some officers are increasingly concerned about challenging certain ethnic minority groups for fear of vexatious complaints and being branded racist — helps the police get things right.

The High Court later ruled that his treatment had been unlawful and a breach of his right to free speech under Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights.

Forces across the country are under significant pressure to review their EDI policies and rethink race action plans following the murder of 18-year-old student Henry Nowak in Southampton.

Henry was stabbed by Vickrum Digwa with a 21cm knife. Following a false accusation of racism by Digwa — a Sikh — Henry was arrested. The police appeared more concerned with an allegation of racism than helping a young man who had just been stabbed.

The FSU’s new briefing shows that a doctrine which openly rejects treating people equally now governs policing.

Wayne O'Rourke's case was exactly the same. Lord Herner rushed through and signed his case off. They were both political prisoners and made examples off. The difference being Wayne was released with bail conditions stating he couldn't do interviews or speak about what happened to him. He also isn't allowed on social media until Aug 2027

Henry Nowak lay dying on a Southampton street, stabbed through the heart, begging police he couldn’t breathe.

The officers on the scene had received guidance — official, NPCC-published guidance, dated March 2025 — instructing them that equal treatment of all citizens was not the goal.

The goal, the document stated, was “equality of policing outcomes.”

And to achieve that, officers must treat people differently based on their ethnicity.

Henry Nowak was white.

His killer, Vickrum Digwa, falsely screamed racism at the scene.

And the officers — trained, officially, to prioritise the experiences of ethnic minorities in policing encounters — handcuffed a dying teenager instead of saving him.

Digwa got life.
Henry got handcuffs.

Now Abimbola Johnson, the barrister who chaired the very watchdog overseeing this guidance, has the sheer audacity to tell us that anti-racist policing progress has been “too slow.”

Not wrong.
Not dangerous.
Not lethal.

Just too slow.

This isn’t a training scandal.

It’s an ideological takeover of British policing.

And a boy is dead because of it.

You want to know what's worse than incompetence? Knowing the truth and burying it anyway.

They knew. That's the bit nobody is saying. They knew.

Two days after Henry died Hampshire Police secretly recorded Digwa in a police van speaking Punjabi to his brother. Digwa admitted stabbing Henry. Discussed claiming self defence. Made zero mention of racial abuse. Not one word.

Hampshire Police had that tape.

They knew Digwa was lying about the racist attack. They had the evidence. They had his own words and then tried to smear Henry as the aggressor anyway.

Three days after his death their statement read “it was reported two men had been assaulted by an unknown man.” Henry was the unknown man. The boy bleeding out on the street. They flipped it.

Family complained. Statement changed. Then police told the family their NEXT update would again infer Henry was the initial aggressor. His family had to fight them a second time. While grieving their murdered son.

Then during the trial Hampshire tried to issue a statement telling the public to stop talking about it online. Calling it disinformation. The CPS had to step in. Told them they were about to collapse their own murder case.

This is the force that handcuffed a dying boy. Missed the murder weapon twice. Had a secret tape proving the killer lied. And still tried to bury Henry's name.

That's not incompetence. That's a machine protecting itself. At the expense of a dead boy's reputation and three officers are still on active duty. Not suspended. Treated as witnesses. To their own actions.

Hampshire Police didn't just fail Henry on that street. They kept failing him for six months after he died.
