The writing revolution in 1st grade! I am excited to work on creating a paragraph about the lifecycle of a plant following their @McGrawHillK12 unit. They will have a topic and conclusion sentence as well as 4 detail sentences by the time we’re done!
5th graders working on volume in Stem class with Ms. Mann! Such a great, hands-on way to review math standards that were covered months ago! Prepping for ACAP in every class! #WeareCollaborative#weareachievers
Due to the weather this week prohibiting our students from practice for their program, WES has moved our Black History Month Program to Tuesday, February 25th, at 8:30 am. Thank you for your understanding, and we hope you can attend! @anne_mariehp#fcslearn
“Send this to Mrs. Patrick! I wrote a song!”. Thank you @anne_mariehp for inspiring children as young as 6 to write their own songs and play instruments. #FCSlearn
The writing revolution has taken off in 2nd grade! We have been writing about our reading stories. The kids are loving writing! I’m loving the shift I’m seeing in them and our teachers.
What I love about the writing revolution is you can use it anytime and anywhere. We got to the writing section of our reading packet this morning. The kids gave a sentence the seemed like a good kernel
sentence to me. I threw in the strategies I knew and we grew the sentence!
The writing revolution in action in 2nd grade today. Students got to choose which character in the story they wanted to write about. Then they had to research in the book their animals where and why. We upped the rigor by allowing them to choose their own animal and find the info
In Ms. Ambrosio’s 2nd grade class I didn’t use same sheet as the students for the writing revolution. I wrote in different colors and then erased the “wh” questions. These kids did amazing!
I love getting to stop and have a think aloud moment with a teacher during a coaching cycle. There is so much learning and growing that can be done in this powerful coaching move!
Sometimes students exceed our expectations!! Such a proud moment! Raise the bar! They will attain it. These teachers and students continue to amaze me! #weareachievers#fcslearn@MH_ELKINS17
It is so neat to see the growth of a 1st grader in math! Understanding teen numbers to now tens and ones! So much learning...and it's fun! Connecting the concrete to the pictorial so that the abstract will make sense!

During ILT one week @JackieAFlowers and Dr. Shaw suggested academic monitoring. I brushed it off and thought it wasn’t possible in K-5. Now I coach it, model it, and support teachers with this in every coaching cycle and during CPT. Wow! What an impactful coaching move. #FCSlearn
