Boy 16 Arrested On Suspicion Of Murder After Woman In Her 60s Found Dead At Home In Manchester

A sixteen year old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman in her sixties was found dead at a house on Ivylea Road in Burnage south Manchester.

Police were called to the address at around 8am on Thursday following reports of an assault with the victim pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Greater Manchester Police have launched a murder investigation and said the teenager remains in custody for questioning.

Officers responded to reports of an assault at the residential address and a major emergency service presence remained at the scene throughout the day.

Burnage is a mainly residential area with mostly semi detached houses located four miles south of Manchester city centre.

The force confirmed one woman aged in her sixties sadly died at the scene and a boy aged sixteen has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
