Antimicrobial resistance is one of the biggest global health threats – making infections much harder to treat. This week I visited services in London, to find out how healthcare teams are taking action to protect the effectiveness of antibiotics and keep patients safe #WAAW2025
At St Bartholomew’s Hospital I met the AMS and haematology teams to learn about their work to tackle AMR, and at Royal London Hospital I visited the #WAAW2025 stand and explored how @NHSBartsHealth has achieved a recent reduction in broad-spectrum antibiotic use
Healthcare professionals in hospitals play a critical role in combatting antimicrobial resistance - refresh your knowledge of best practice and share with your team. Let’s protect patients, preserve antibiotics, and drive change together! #KeepAntibioticsWorking#WAAW2025
