@Istillhavelifee@LuGuy20 I donโt think you fully understand, or have firsthand experience with speech delays in children, particularly those on the autism spectrum.
Itโs a complex issue, and the relationship between speech, language development, and communication is well documented. Look it up.
Many speech-delayed children grasp English first because media, educational apps, and speech therapy materials are predominantly in English.
Itโs not a parenting failure, itโs a developmental stage shaped by their environment.
It will really assist if you can show me where i blamed "a medical condition a media consumption issue" & where i said majority of kids "If kids learn whatever language is on the screen, stop dressing it up as a developmental phenomenon which doesn't affect the majority of kids." ?
Now we๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝre getting somewhere. Children with speech delays, which can be an early sign of autism, often struggle with communication.
In South Africa, much of the media they consume, AAC and learning apps, and even speech therapy resources are predominantly in English. So itโs hardly surprising that most of these children acquire English first and use it as their primary language for communication.
@Istillhavelifee@LuGuy20 Let me simplify it for you. In those countries it won't be English because media (YouTube), educational apps, and speech therapy materials are NOT predominantly in English.
Are you still not connecting the dots ?
Here is my initial tweet, read it again. I never talked about "global language dominance" :
"Many speech-delayed children grasp English first because media, educational apps, and speech therapy materials are predominantly in English.
Itโs not a parenting failure, itโs a developmental stage shaped by their environment."
Itโs all geopolitics. The automobile industry helped pave the way for American industrial dominance. Now Chinaโs rise through manufacturing is giving the West sleepless nights. Instead of competing head-on where China has built enormous capacity, the response increasingly looks like tariffs, propaganda campaigns, restrictions and other tactics designed to slow Beijingโs momentum.
When will the lying stop? Currently Chinese cars are better than EU cars.
In SA vthere are fewer new BMWs, VWs and MBenz on our roads.
BMW and VW factories in Germany have closed down and many of these factories have been sold to Chinese companies.
Even Elon Musk's mega factory which produces Teslas is located in Shanghai in China. He has voted on this with his money and products.
The consumers have spoken, eloquently.
