Our next team in focus is @nwvg_uplus

NWVG-Uplus describe themselves as a team where individual riders can develop. They teach riders to perform as a team through enjoyment of the sport and cooperation. They train riders in the broadest sense of the word; from novice rider to finishing classics or preparing talented riders for a step higher.

They offer space to all female cyclists from Groningen and the (far) surrounding area, for both fanatic cyclists with ambitions at (inter)national competition level, as well as for cyclists who are just starting out in cycling.

The team are no stranger to Rás na mBan with Manon de Boer having secured the overall win in 2023. De Boer took the top spot in 2023 with just a three second margin over Renée Van Hout of Team Noord Holland, while also securing the Queen of the Mountains jersey. She returned in 2024 as the Elite Dutch Champion of Riders without a contract, joined by Wendy Oosterwoud, Arenda van Middendorp, Iris Schultinga, and Fleur Smith.

The team put in a strong rider overall, with a number of top 20 places throughout the five days of racing. De Boer was consistent throughout, finishing with the bunch sprint on stage 1 to ensure her battle as defending champion started well. While the GC remained tight, De Boer secured bonus seconds on stage 4 with her win on the Rower, and ultimately sealed her win of the Wicklow 200 Queen of the Mountains jersey for the 2nd year running.

She finished 3rd on GC at 11 seconds, with Wendy Oosterwoud following close behind in 17th overall at 40 seconds.

We were delighted to have the team return, particularly with the defending champion in action again, and we hope to see them again in the future.
