I appreciate the insightful push-and-pull between the Dev team and the Growth-Product team in relation to design philosophies.
One side may have the tendency to fall in love with the tech and making novel possibilities. But the other side grounds the ideals back to the users.
It seems that Unstoppable Domains wants to focus on supporting professionals by establishing a decentralized LinkedIn platform built on top of their Web3 domains.
Sandy, their COO, talked about this briefly in the recent NamesCon.
Most people don’t realize the potential value of Web3 domains beyond what it is most commonly used for right now - a pointer to a wallet.
It’s a human-readable digital ID that you can use for payments, sharing personal information and digital assets (not just NFT PFPs).
If you dig deeper into what digital assets can be associated to your ID, the possibilities are endless:
Academic certificates, tickets to events, membership cards, health certificates, workshops, credentials, etc.
It seems simple to get Discord users to choose a unique username, but with almost 200 million users - this is a big indicator of the importance of digital identities.
I would consider myself lucky if I could use the same "wesdc" for every single platform that I use.
