MARKETS HOLD STRONG AS MIDDLE EAST WAR DRAGS ON
Deutsche Bank strategist Henry Allen says markets haven’t faced a 2022-style shock yet despite stagflation fears from the Middle East conflict.
Three key reasons: oil prices remain moderate (Brent ~$84/bbl vs. $100+ in 2022), major central banks haven’t tightened policy, and early economic data in the U.S., Eurozone, and U.K. still shows growth.
Allen notes historical patterns suggest equities could weaken broadly if the shock deepens, though energy and countries with low inflation may fare better.
