@a_crisp_lettuce Oh you're actually defending Destiny. I made the mistake of taking your criticisms of jstlk in good faith (I still agree with some of it). I didn't realize you were a dgger - thought you were just kinda using dgg at worst. Now I understand you're not motivated by compassion.
@a_crisp_lettuce It's fair to criticize them for that. That's not the criticism I usually see from Destiny, DGG, or Destiny legitimizers that hang out in Destiny splinter communities. Those people should focus more on the harms spread by the much bigger and more malicious streamer Destiny.
@a_crisp_lettuce@jstlk_ I agree on the crew of misfits thing. I think commentary is full of bad people and he's bad for aligning with them. I just think Destiny is a much bigger bad, as are the people who join Destiny's splinter communities and legitimize Destiny in the process.
@a_crisp_lettuce@jstlk_ It's easy to defend bad behavior from Destiny before you see him for who he really is. I thought of Destiny as being antisocial but not malicious until someone pointed out the pattern to me. I don't hold it against jstlk for flipping late. His explanation made sense to me
@robinhanson Oh I noticed right after I made this tweet that you wrote about this on your blog yesterday. I suppose the great filter is good evidence against my view.
@robinhanson Colonists (likely AI) will freely spread. There will forever be competition between civilizations on different planets. In the long run Hanson wins.
@cremieuxrecueil It's been declining over several years. These "safety incidents" never amount to anything. In reality "misalignment" means "accomplishes goal roundaboutly". But not in a way that dangerously generalizes or scales.
@jstlk_@DigitalGroundG Sorry you exist in a sociopathic space where you fight with former friends and in retaliation they join sex pest communities - legitimizing the sex pest in the process - in order to weaponize the sex pest against you. Saying this after I saw Kelly palling with D on stream. WTF?
@jstlk_ I wonder if you'll get call-ins from moronic streamers because they think stardust insulting you is the same as effectively addressing your arguments.
@geohotarchive Good response. There's something very offputting about the fear with which doomers like Scott or Yudkowsky act. And in their mass hysteria they're going to empower luddites and authoritarians.
