El Fasher teeters on brink of utter devastation and civilians are suffering horrifically. This humanitarian letter from 8 international NGOs and voices of local aid workers highlight that international community must speak as one and pressure warring parties to facilitate unhindered humanitarian access.
Our shared security and development goals cannot be achieved without the full, equal and meaningful participation of women and girls. We are doing our part to take an inclusive approach to conflict prevention. -AAW
New joint statement issued by Biden and UAE leader Mohamed bin Zayed
Expresses deep concern” over the war in Sudan but makes zero mention of the fact that the UAE is funneling arms into that war, to a militia accused of widespread war crimes

Inspired by the Sudanese women I met at #UNGA this week who are working for peace and accountability. Their bravery is empowering to women involved in the peace process in #Sudan—and around the world—and helps bring us closer to accountability for individuals who have committed crimes. #UNGA79
As the President has said, the United States stands with the Sudanese people. We are committed to holding accountable actors seeking to perpetuate violence, and documenting atrocities in order to lay the groundwork for justice and accountability efforts.

We are extremely concerned about the RSF’s renewed attacks. The repeated attacks on El Fasher and the shelling of Abu Shouk and Al Salaam displacement camps nearby have already brought great suffering to Sudanese civilians, many of whom had fled to El Fasher in the face of other fighting in Darfur. We urge the RSF to stop its assault. The RSF must take all steps to protect the lives of innocents and respect its civilian protection commitments.
The only way to prevent this crisis is for leaders & decision makers to take immediate & decisive action — name violations, cease weapons exports, & use every available entry point to pressure the conflict parties & their allies to stop this violence

Today, as we mark the 500th day of violence in Sudan, Sudanese people continue to suffer the effects of this war. Frontline humanitarian workers report desperate conditions in El Fasher: the RSF are gathering troops for another attack and SAF bombing continues to inflict civilian casualties. I urge SAF and RSF leadership to tell their troops to stand down to prevent further atrocities and devastation in this famine-stricken area. The responsible parties must cease hostilities and allow aid to reach civilians now and comply with their commitments to protect civilians.
This is Women, Peace and Security in action. Our team was honored to sit beside Sudanese women leaders, joined by @USSESudan & SEHOA Hammer, on the last day of sessions in Geneva as they received a message from @SecBlinken commending their efforts for a more peaceful future for Sudan. We are grateful to our partners @CanadaFP@WomenPeaceSec & @NorwayMFA for facilitating these sessions alongside the diplomatic talks.
The U.S. welcomes recent agreements to resume humanitarian access across the Adré border and along the Dabbah Road, allowing lifesaving aid to reach millions of Sudanese. We will keep working with our partners to further expand and accelerate emergency aid deliveries in Sudan.
🚨Breaking: 38 trucks have crossed the Adre border from Chad into Sudan carrying much-needed emergency shelter & non-food items, food, livelihood, & nutrition supplies.
