If I’m @jj_redick I’m keeping the @Lakers on the floor after the game to run sprints and do box out drills for this piss poor rebounding performance they are displaying in the 4th.
@johnvarlas All 3 of your concerns are subjective and don’t have any data to prove they are legitimate. At the end of the day, the majority of the stakeholders are for the clock…it’s time.
@johnvarlas 3. Teams that are that bad, aren’t slowing anything down…the teams/coaches good enough to slow the game down will certainly find a new way to be successful in managing the game…good teams/coaches will continue to be that…same for bad.
@johnvarlas 2. Why do we need qualified people? We have unqualified people doing all sorts of things in sports…playing, coaching, officiating, and writing about them…May clock keeper and book keepers are more qualified. Shot clock is easier than the book and the clock from my experience.
@johnvarlas Go interview a gym full of kids and ask them all if they think They are good enough…then go to the bleachers and ask their parents if their child is good enough…doesn’t matter if they are…do they think they are is what drives the behavior and decisions
@johnvarlas No you cant ignore rules but Kids are already leaving scholastic sports to participate in clubs or attend prep schools where rules are not nearly as restrictive. Families are chasing opportunity, this type of thing is the exact opposite. People uproot their lives for opportunity.

A college coach mentioned :
“Doing Something vs Nobody … means Nothing …
Doing Something vs Somebody …means Everything”

HS coaches taking photos with college coaches when they stop by does no good, when those D1 coaches never offer your players 🤔
If you want to help your players, have them take pics with the D1 coach and post that, and boost THEIR recruiting
Make it about the players
A college coach just said something on here that every high school player and parent needs to read.
Your high school coach matters more in recruiting than most people think.
And most players are completely underutilizing that relationship. 🧵
HS sports:
Lifting with your team 2x/wk in the off-season doesn’t always guarantee you will win a title. It just increases your likelihood of success.
But not training with your team 2x/wk in the off-season almost always guarantee that you will not win a title. It wildly decreases your chances of success.
@johnvarlas Learn something new every day! I didn’t say I was very good just that I played it LOL played PB spyglass and Spanish bay. If I ever go back I will only play PB multiple rounds. The other two were great but PB was a totally different experience.
