I was informed Criterion Capital are continuing with evictions from various of their properties, including Emerald House in New Malden, despite earlier reports this was on hold following an intervention from the Mayor’s office.
I wrote to the Deputy Mayor for Housing seeking clarity and asking for his assistance in putting an end to housing’s equivalent of ‘fire & rehire’.
A packed room last night in West Barnes library with local residents who came to discuss the gas holder development.
Thanks to those who came and contributed. It was a productive meeting.

Last week we met Tesco managers and the Metropolitan Police to discuss “car cruising” is the Tesco car park.
Concerns were raised about noise, risk of property damage and injuries that could be caused. Potential solutions were discussed that could help deter future incidents.
Just finished meeting all our deliverers in #WestBarnes to say thank you & Merry Christmas.
I must say LibDem supporters are the best!! What a wonderful way to spend my day.

It’s a chilly but beautiful day! Loved chatting to the local residents at our regular street stall surgery - so lucky to represent such a fabulous community.
Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and festive holiday from #WestBarnes.
It’s been a busy year at City Hall, it was great to end it on some positive outcomes, like the re-introduction of Erasmus, which the London LibDems have long campaigned for.
Xmas won’t be easy for many in the capital, so we'll keep working to ensure London is a fairer city.

Proud to speak for so many communities this week, many who need the London Assembly to amplify their voice. From exploited domestic workers to trapped leaseholders. Grateful to everyone working with me to make London fairer, safer and more compassionate.
As Islamophobia Awareness Month ends, the rise in anti-Muslim hate remains impossible to ignore.
Together, we must call it out and build the inclusive Britain we all need and deserve.
Our regular catch up in # WestBarnes is always so much fun (despite the weather!) with lots of residents commenting on how we are always around - not just when there’s an election. #LibDems “Working hard all year round” is something we truly mean!
Love doing our regular catch up in #WestBarnes with residents.
Lots of concerns raised about the Gas Holder development. We have until the 21st to make submissions.
Other issues were the upcoming potential budget tax rises, Gaza, road maintenance and speeding.
It may be raining but there was enough dry moments for us to get to speak to quite a few residents today in #WestBarnes. Lots of conversations about the Gas Holder development and pitch use in the local parks.
We are out every week, rain or shine!
I’ve proudly waved the Union flag at sporting events & royal occasions. But this flag on a street I represent as a local councillor does not represent unity. Placing it by the “We Are Merton” sign is meant to be provocative & divisive.
I’ve asked @Merton_Council to remove them.
Fabulous team out today in West Barnes talking to local residents. We had lots of great conversations and support. Issues ranged from street cleaning, and lighting, to cuts to our local police stations.

When you decide last minute to hold a street surgery because you know residents have concerns about a local development in Kingston that impacts Sutton & Merton and the @LeaderSutton cycles past and stops to help us answer questions.
Thanks Barry for your insight, so useful!
