On #LatinaEqualPay Day, the numbers tell a clear story: Latinas working across industries & sectors experience the pay gap. Latinas are present in every industry & we’re still paid less. Today we honor our power & advocate for equal pay. @mujerxsrising

Major update! AB 1886 authored by @AsmSadeElhawary has been signed into law!! Thank you to our incredible co-sponsors and coalition that pushed this bill forward ❤️
Parents shouldn’t lose support for working more. AB 1755 is now law, ending California’s “100-hour rule.” Starting in 2027, CalWORKs eligibility will reflect what a family earns—not hours worked. Proud to co-sponsor this win. #AB1755#CalWORKs
Calif. Senate Bill 716 increases fines for city and county ordinance violations involving large nonresidential structures of 20,000+ sf. Fines can be multiplied by up to ten times—up to $50,000 per violation—if it occurs during a declared state of emergency or federal disaster.
The new public charge rule is discriminatory, racist and unlawful. It strips away safeguards and gives immigration officials sweeping discretion—opening the door to bias, inconsistent decisions and discrimination.

AB 2161 is now California law—a major victory for health care access!
As federal Medi-Cal work-reporting rules threaten coverage for 1.1 million Californians by 2030, the law adds safeguards so a paperwork problem doesn’t cost someone their health care.

Between devastating cuts to SNAP, rising food costs thanks to wars and tariffs, and persistent inflation, we need a bipartisan Farm Bill that provides relief for California's hungry families.

AB 2564 is an important affordability measure, and surveillance pricing is not a future Californians want. AB 2564 is important because it prohibits pricing that is secretly adjusted to how much a store thinks someone is willing to pay.
YES to #fairpricing. NO to gouging. #AB2564
Federal cuts (H.R. 1) eliminated food aid for refugees & trafficking survivors, children & elders. Calif. can act now to protect them from hunger by funding CFAP food aid.
Tell the Governor: fund CFAP now. 👇

76% of SoCal cities have zoned homeless shelters into their most polluted industrial zones—far from transit, doctors, services. That's not an accidental. It's a choice about whose health and dignity counts. WCLP's Katie McKeon explains why this matters.
