Google Chrome is about to eliminate the last loopholes that allowed older ad blockers to keep working.
According to The Verge, Chrome versions 150 and 151, expected in late June and July, will remove the final pieces of code related to Manifest V2 extensions.
This means legacy ad blockers such as the original uBlock Origin will no longer function in Chrome, with only Manifest V3-compatible extensions supported.
Google says the change is necessary due to technical debt and security risks from the old system. Critics argue that Manifest V3 limits the effectiveness of advanced ad blockers and privacy tools.
Most Chrome users have already switched to Manifest V3 alternatives like uBlock Origin Lite, while others have moved to browsers that still support Manifest V2 extensions.
A complete collapse of the gaming industry is the only surefire solution to completely eliminating the cultural rot that's been seeping into its crevices for over a decade. Let the unsalvageable sink, let the devs that listen to the market absorb the assets with utility.
@Mangalawyer The amount of visceral hatred that I have for this woman will never be quenched. I don't they we'll ever be able to eliminate every ounce of cultural rot due to her existence, but at the very least, the tides are turning.
@xShephardx I'm playing the demo for Sinking City 2, and it's a vast improvement over SC1. The protagonist has a personality (imagine if Indy was an occult researcher for Miskatonic), it's more survival horror focused, and the boat has an engine that allows you to speed up.
Epic Games is hiring a Senior Game Security Engineer to “champion Linux anti-cheat capabilities,” a move that has made some people think Fortnite could eventually come to Linux.
The role requires deep knowledge of both Windows and Linux internals, along with experience in low-level security and anti-cheat systems. The listing doesn’t mention Fortnite.
Easy Anti-Cheat already supports Linux and Proton, but those features need to be enabled and maintained for each game.
The job posting doesn’t guarantee Fortnite on Linux, especially since Tim hates Linux even more than Gabe Newell.
