Every evening next week straight after school, the Westlands Book Fair will be held in the foyer next to the Year 5 entrance behind the school hall. There will be an amazing array of books for you to buy for your child whatever their age within the school.
It was a sparkling week 5 at Forsest School. The children used Sweedish flint and steel to make sparks and the Year 5s made little mini fires with cotton wool.

Forest School Update - We made Stickpeople this week at Forest School! First we made a clove hitch, then some very tricky square lashings and we finished with a reef knot. Year 5 added clayheads to theirs.

Children are invited to come into school tomorrow wearing an item of red clothing or a red accessory.

We have had to make a change to todays lunch menu. Instead of the planned chicken and vegetable stew with dumplings we will now be serving lentil and vegetable stew with dumplings. The other two options of Pesto Pasta and Jacket Potatoes with a choice of toppings remain the same.
Congratulations to Year 6 class Jaguar and Year 5 class Meerkat on achieving the highest class attendance this week, both with 99% attendance.

This week at Forest School, we had hammering Lions and bread cooking Zebras and Axolotls. Yr 3 used hammers and nails, avoiding hitting their fingers. Yr 5 enjoyed sitting by the fire whilst turning their greenwood with dough. Sessions finished with hot chocolate and a biscuit.

We will be running a SATs breakfast for our Year 6 children this term, a letter with further information has been sent out to parents via weduc and email.
We are pleased to inform you the children will be having their school class photos taken on Thursday 18th April 2024. Please ensure all children are in full school uniform. PE lessons on this day will be cancelled.

Flamingo Class has had an amazing week of learning!
In English, the children worked amazingly well to produce some fantastic shape poetry.
In Maths, the children began learning about fractions.
We were very lucky to be visited by The Family Trust in our assembly.
A reminder that EYFS and Year 1 will be holding a maths workshop on Thursday 21st March from 2:10-3pm.
