@StartsWithABang Another take on it: with a more conservative estimate on the uncertainty, the difference in estimates is much less significant. https://t.co/G3fwVMzYRo
@JonahDispatch Reminds me so much of the pics of Trudeau’s cabinet years ago that were met with oohs and ahhs from lefties because they “looked wonderful”. Now we have a “twitchy-eyed negotiator” president, a SecDef who lifts weights on TV… hey, this looks familiar, eh?
@DavidBegnaud About an hour ago, at lunch, my wife (an immigrant) said matter-of-factly that one of the first things an immigrant to the US needs to learn is how to shop at Costco. BTW, I hope you bought a rotisserie chicken while you were there.
@JamesSurowiecki Counting cost, too? If so, every place is best: if one place were better than another, the prices would go up accordingly. Pricing FTW!
I'm seeing a lot of people who are happy that @elonmusk is standing up to Twitter employees. I would have expected many of the same people to be upset that Trump's account is still suspended, but I see no complaints. What's up with that?
@RadioFreeTom My first thought was that it was stuff he could use for financial leverage overseas. Now I’m thinking it’s simpler: it’s stuff he could show off to guests.
@RadioFreeTom I’d love to see how political leaning affects errors in risk assessment; for example, after an incident, whether conservatives overestimate terrorism by the same degree that liberals overestimate school shootings.
@norootcause Pretty much anything related to the 8-year old. I don’t care if it’s only a few more lines of code, a couple sentences to wrap up the email, or a little change you realize will help you debug something: if he needs breakfast, or to be driven to/from school, I drop everything.
