@JLR_News@WestMids_CA Great partnership to turbocharge growth in manufacturing and accelerate the transformative benefits advanced connectivity can offer to social care and housing
We’re delighted to share our joint bid with @WestMids_CA's local authority partners and @WestMids5G for the government’s #5G Innovation Regions competition has won!
What a day! Thank you to all our speakers and people who attended our #WM5GExpo today. It was great to have so many of our partners under one roof discussing innovation made possible through the power of 5G ⚡
We’ve been fortunate enough to hear @andy4wm share his thoughts on WM5G’s innovative partner projects at #WM5GExpo today and his passion for what WM5G has to offer next.
@andy4wm 🗣️ “We have such a strength in 5G, it is so relevant to so many other sectors we call out in our Plan for Growth. The biggest one is professional services and that is being changed in front of our eyes by how technology is coming into that... (1/2)
Demonstrating the true capabilities of 5G, attendees at #WM5GExpo were presented with a real phone call recording demonstrating how a vulnerable patient was able to avoid going to a hospital and was treated at home.
At our #WM5GExpo, the Health and Care sector shared the shocking fact that on average people in the West Midlands Combined Authorirty area have a shorter life expectancy than England overall and spend more of their lives in poor health.
We heard from those who are fighting to change this through the power of 5G! 🗣️ “Connectivity holds the ability to revolutionise the way we think and deliver health and social care, making it increasingly tailored, patient-centric and concentrated on supporting patient choice.”
@CorinCrane@cwchamber The potential uses for this innovation are endless, including ensuring constantly up-to-date maps and building safety - for example, Twindl’s tech would have been extremely useful during the investigations of the Grenfell Fire Disaster.
Our Acceleration and Adoption sector has been able to support 700 organisations across the Midlands to upskill and drive innovation, but @CorinCrane from @cwchamber explained that many businesses are still overwhelmed with knowing how to access ways to upskill #WM5GExpo
@CorinCrane@cwchamber One of the businesses that the sector has supported is Twindl, which has developed reality-capture technology that can be used to digitally map buildings and even entire cities in just a few days.
Amongst those combatting digital inequalities are @freshwavegroup, MBNL and @WolvesCouncil presented the different ways in which they’re making 5G more accessible across the region #WM5GExpo
During the Connectivity presentation at the #WM5GExpo Chris Hudson shared that
“8% of UK landmass doesn’t have access to mobile phone signal, and 21% of the UK don’t have access to or use connectivity.”
“We need it for accessing doctors appointments, building relationships, banking, finding and applying for jobs. Without access to the digital world we are significantly disadvantaged.”
The countdown is on ⏰
Don’t miss out on the chance to hear from @andy4wm and experience the latest #digital#innovations across a range of sectors at our Expo ⚙️
