So in the space of a day, it’s gone from:

“Asylum seekers will repay the £10,000”

To

“They will be EXPECTED to contribute IF they return at a future date”

So realistically we all know that nobody will ever pay a penny, and if they do want to come back, they’ll just come back across the channel back into free accommodation and use the ECHR again.

Let’s do some maths shall we?

Here are the arrivals of small boat migrants for the last 7 days from the governments own statistics.

The total for the last 7 days is 999 arrivals.

There are 52 weeks in a year: 52 X 999 =51,948

Let’s be generous and assume it was a high week and say that annually it’s more like 40,000.

This over 10 years is: 40,000 x 10 = 400,000

This does not account for all illegals arriving via other routes I.e. smuggling via trucks, fraudulent work and student visas, and all their dependents that will eventually come through ‘legal routes’

… and you are pleading to deport 45,000 over the next 10 years which you’ll inevitably fall short at as you always do.
