I would ask that you check the coverage by the international press on your election. They are calling it the Trump Effect. Dutton tried to be a Trump look alike and it alienated the majority of your voters. Same thing in Canada with Poilievre who talked like Trump and was abusive with the press etc. Both should have easily won their elections but when Trump revealed his true colours to the world, it caught up to both of them. In case you have not noticed, Trump and his buddy Musky Chainsaw are now pariah's around the countries of the world and Trump's favorabilty ratings in the US are tanking. He is running a con scheme with his meme coin, not mentioning the rest of his slimy sales items and has turned the White House into bribe city. Give me contributions and all your DOJ lawsuits disappear. That includes that crook Musk who had several against him by the US government. Don't support me and I attack you using my pet attorney general Bondi. In case you had not noticed, he is dismantling the Justice system and removing all senior government positions and inserting his own cronies into the jobs. It would appear he is now ignoring judicial decisions by many of the courts. When he came down his golden escalator 10 years ago, many like myself understood him for what he was, a power seeker who would lie, cheat, tell people what they wanted to hear to get elected. He is turning the US into an authoritarian state. Trump was never about anti-wokism. Why do you think Viktor Orban was at Mar-a-logo so often, to play golf?
They were asking him how he did the same thing in Hungary.
Trump's trade wars are all about maintaining US hegemony around the world. Yes, the US has major financing problems. Due to their many proxy wars over the decades they now have massive debt which is eating up their GDP, more every year and the US dollar is losing its prominence as the world's reserve currency. But make no mistake this is about taking down China. But the problem is that China will win the trade war which will leave Trump as a malignant sociopathic narcissist in a difficult position. Will he then start a war with China to save his pride? If he does, Australia will be right in the middle of it, in particular because you are basing US military assets. And don't forget China is your biggest export destination. They won't be happy when you partner up with the US in a war in the South China Sea. Have fun right wingers of Australia.

The difference moron is that China has not threatened and will not invade us so we don't have to worry about them. With the mental midget to the south, we may have to worry more. NORAD was only for the benefit of the US as an early warning system should Russia attack across Canada. That was another fantasy of the US which was never going to happen. With the modern ballistic missiles today, NORAD is obsolete anyway. So suck on that dick head.
@SSVegetaPride@wealthmoose we will see about that. Your northern states like New York, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota and Maine may not agree as they will be affected immediately by the trade war. We will see how the malignant toddler makes out in the midterms.
So, you believe Carney is prioritizing corporate interests over those of Canada? Then what do we call Donald Trump? A sociopathic malignant narcissist who prioritizes his own personal wealth through the use of his position in the most corrupt administration in US history, establishes policies which benefit the tech bros in America over the interests of everyday US citizens.
This is your hero Maple Maga. You are a fool.
The US has run deficits every year since 2001 whether under a republican or democratic administration. In Trump's first term he accumulated 7.8 trillion in deficits which was added to the national debt. This was after he bragged that he was going to pay off the national debt through GDP growth. How did that work out? The US debt situation is a complex problem involving emergency measures taken during the 2007 recession and the 2019 Covid crisis along with rising interest rates. Too many wars, too large a military and irresponsible tax cuts have led to the current situation in my opinion but it certainly is not a strictly democratic problem.
Trump in his second term has constantly whined about trade deficits and other countries taking advantage of the US. The real problem is that the US can no longer compete and thus US consumers are buying the cheaper imported products. Trump installed tariffs to attempt to force countries to move their manufacturing to the US and/or to blackmail them to make investments in the US which Trump was going to use to try and re-industrialize his financialized economy. Of course, none of that has worked. Canada was just one target of many, the difference being we won't co-operate and the malignant toddler can't get his own way.
Now, the rest of the world is diversifying their economies and moving away from the US if they can.
Trump talks the talk, but can't walk the walk. He is, as I said nothing but a carnival barker building monuments to himself.

Welcome to a market that can't trust what comes out of the Bureau of Statistics in the US.
Welcome to a country where you really can't trust anything from them anymore especially when they tell the world their economy is so strong with a 40 trillion dollar debt that they are trying to control by printing money. How long can that last?
@wealthmoose I am sure you have heard the phrase "pissing into the wind" wealth mouth. Well that summarizes the futility of the comments you just made to Canadians in general. You are on the wrong side of history but enjoy.
You stupid arse hole, to believe that sycophant. Do you have any intelligence whatsoever. At the height of operation, roughly 20 million barrels a day went through the Strait. Now, just a handful of ships transit everyday and it is still unknown how many of these are allowed through by Iran because they have conformed to their rules or how many can sneak through on the Oman side.
But just within the last two or three days , several tankers going through on the Oman side have been attacked or hit mines and have been turned back. Going dark does not protect them from Iranian tracking you fucking moron. Iran controls the Strait. That is why the Trumpster is still there because he wants out real bad.
Diesel shortages are becoming a problem in the US. The bond market is not responding well because no one except you believes the bull shit coming out of the White House. Congratulations, you have joined the MAGA morons in the US>
First all moron, the 65 billion figure is just an estimate of what might be available in these fields. Secondly, they do not form part of oil US reserves as Venezuela owns the oil and like most oil countries around the world, receive royalties from the oil companies who drill there.
The 100 year lease was negotiated in the Venezuelan National Assembly during a period of duress and a future elected Venezuelan government could void the lease. This was one of the reasons the Office of Strategic Capital has to step in to provide guarantees for the risk.
The OSC cannot legally acquire a 35% equity in North American Blue Energy by exercising the penny warrants under current law.
Since at least a 100 billion of private investment will be required to refurbish the countries oil infrastructure, it is very likely that significant increases in current output will take many years to realize so this will not help with the Strategic oil reserves or current price levels.
Well dumbo, isn't that what we want the prime minister to do and that i, to attract FDI into Canada to help develop AI, critical mineral supply chains, investment in EV and energy for example?
Barton possesses "unmatched elite corporate and international networks. He is uniquely equipped to manage high-level relationships with the world's most influential financial executives and largest sovereign wealth and pension funds. " Or in other words, he is the right person for the job.
So, Chief of the Maga Maples, stop trying to portray positive policies by Carney as negative to promote your sick cause.
@wealthmoose Is this your next right wing ding a ling fantasy wealth mouth? I want you to hold your breath until we join the EU since it is going to happen soon according to you
Not true as usual. The EU is pushing a voluntary economic strategy called the Savings and Investments Union (SIU). The goal is to incentivise citizens to voluntarily move a portion of their cash into higher-yielding investments such as corporate bonds and stocks to help fund local businesses and green energy transition. Under the proposal, citizens maintain total ownership and voluntary control over how and where their money is directed. The rest of this idiot's statements and fantasies are part of a conspiracy theory the "Secret Globalist Integration" Plot. As the story goes, Carney and von der Leyen are plotting to dissolve Canadian sovereignty somehow and put Canada under EU government control. Just more fodder for you right wing ding a lings that believe wealth mouth. I want you all to hold your breath until Canada goes communist.
The F-35 Lightening while being an advanced 5th generation fighter has its weaknesses as follows:
High Operating costs- $30,000 to $40,000 per hour
Complex Logistics- plane uses a computer system to self diagnose problems and order parts form a central inventory resulting in massive delays which keep the plane out of service for long periods of time.
Shortage of spare parts due to US supply problems in its military industrial complex
Limited weapons payload
Restricted Combat radius
Lack of Sovereign control
Requirement of specialized hangars
In addition, the F-35 was suppose to be an integral part of the battle space able to transfer data to ground radar, naval vessels and other types of fighters but due to certain complexities, it is unable to do that and has to use standard NATO radio links which negates its stealth. Finally, Iran and China are developing techniques to track the F-35 thermal plume and air displacement through the use of passive infrared and coherent location tracking, AI infrared missiles and Quantum Single-Photon Radars.
NATO countries did not want to spend the development costs of billions of dollars for a 5th generation jet so they concentrated on enhancing capibilities of existing 4.5 generation planes.
Canada only needs a handful of F-35's to meet its NATO commitments even though they will probably spend most of their time on the ground. The Griphen is sufficient for local coastline and arctic patrol duties.
Canada has joined the Global Combat Air Program being developed by UK, Japan and Italy to build a 6th generation aircraft.
Based on our current relations with the US, it would be better to concentrate our resources here and look to Europe for a next generation fighter aircraft.
Wow, Eric you moron, that is going to make quite a difference now isn't it. China, Russia and Pakistan have told Bessent to piss off. They are Iran's main suppliers at the moment.
In addition, Iran no longer deals with the US Swift payment system.
When Bessent made the original announcement about the mother of all sanctions against Iran, everyone in the world with a brain knew he was just bullshitting and that he had no economic leverage over Iran.
The first point to be made is that many are now considering the new deal to be outright extortion, economic colonialism, and infringement on Venezuelan sovereignty which could cause political unrest for the current government in the country.
Delcy Rodriguez is either being threatened or bought off, one or the other to have accepted these one sided terms.
The next hurdle will be whether the US oil companies are willing to invest the 100 billion for infrastructure upgrades required.
Finally, what happens in two years when the great white whale's term is completed ( that is if the US can get him out of power ).
Assuming this fantasy comes to fruition in the future, then you can bet that US oil refineries will buy the cheaper Venezuelan heavy sour crude over Canada's oil.
Just another reason to diversify our oil export destinations to Asia by increasing pipeline capacity to the west.
I can just imagine the closet separatist in Alberta reading about this new deal by Trump. She probably peed her panties. We can only hope she now realizes that Trump will destroy her as he does everyone else.
So we are going to believe anything Lutnick says about these trade negotiations now are we? Howard Lutnick is a carnival barker and a liar which in order to serve in the Trump administration, you have to be. I mean their boss lies every time his lips move. Wasn't Howard the guy who said he had nothing to do with Epstein, when we found out later he had visited the Island. And he is the guy who just said that car makers left Michigan to build plants in Canada because we don't have any unions? It doesn't matter when we realized that heavy trucks were going to be left out of the reduced tariffs. It only matters that we would not accept a provision that would have near immediate catastrophic affect on Canadian auto workers and plants moron.
You don't have a leg to stand on to argue that we should have accepted this deal dumbo so deal with it.
Who cares what Bessent says about anything. A Trump sycophant. Carney was put forward by the powers that be to protect Canada from Trump. Carney won the election based on his world experience as opposed to the idiot, Mr PeePee.
Because Carney was negotiating for Canada, he would not let his country sign a bad deal.
Now both countries will suffer. And the blame is on Trump. But what can you expect from a pig except a grunt!
