Clemson coach Dabo Swinney on their 2026 portal approach: "We had our needs, mostly on defense, that we needed to fill, and I thought we did a great job. ... Those guys have been awesome for us. ... We were able to fill our needs. We had some major needs"

[WestZone Tiger @WestZoneTiger]

This is why we’re done until Dabo leaves… why give him time to fix it?

THIS WAS HIS ATTEMPT AT FIXING IT

[Tiger Commenter @TigerCommenter]

The crux of all the issues in Clemson.

On the heels of the most disappointing season of the Dabo Swinney era he made a questionable hire at OC & then handed him the worst QB room in all of P4 behind an inexperienced OL.

Ok now do Clemson

[Pete Thamel @PeteThamel]

Oregon announces the dismissal of offensive coordinator Drew Mehringer.

[WestZone Tiger @WestZoneTiger]

@ThtClemBurner All the more reason he needs to go. He’s washed and his culture is soft. We get bullied in recruiting and on the field while he can’t, or refuses to, see what a shit show this has become

[WestZone Tiger @WestZoneTiger]

@TigerCommenter This why Chad got the job. Nobody else was signing up for this shit

[WestZone Tiger @WestZoneTiger]

@tigerpregame I guess my issue is for $11M+ annually, I'd like to think we would've "full stepped" into the portal. Especially since winning football games is literally the reason he is employed

I want to be patient and see what happens, but I was told the same thing a year ago and got this

[WestZone Tiger @WestZoneTiger]

@gray_mann21 Who hired the coaches? Isn't there someone in charge of that?

Over $11M/year and can't get them to put it together 🤡

[WestZone Tiger @WestZoneTiger]

@tigerpregame @clemson54369 Agreed on your first point, though again, probably true at most schools now that NIL is a thing.

Clemson's issue - what does Dabo have left to sell to keep the ones we want?

[WestZone Tiger @WestZoneTiger]

@tigerpregame The issue with that argument is it's a different game today with NIL and the portal... he's had five years to adapt and here we are having this conversation for the second year in a row

Doesn't matter who you hire if you keep a hand tied behind their back

[WestZone Tiger @WestZoneTiger]

Needed this in the worst way today

[Atlanta Falcons @AtlantaFalcons]

Faithful to The 🅰️

[Atlanta Falcons @AtlantaFalcons]

Cowabunga, dude

[WestZone Tiger @WestZoneTiger]

@tigerpregame Problem is we said the same thing last year and here we are… when is it enough?

[WestZone Tiger @WestZoneTiger]

@BigLawn23 @Bengals @NFL That’s not what he showed up in lawndawg

[Atlanta Falcons @AtlantaFalcons]

Chris Lindstrom Giveaway ‼️

Repost for a chance to win a signed @C_Lindstrom63 throwback helmet!

[WestZone Tiger @WestZoneTiger]

@chanceyjohn @chapelfowler I can't like this enough... talent hides a lot of problems elsewhere

[WestZone Tiger @WestZoneTiger]

What bothers me most is being gaslit by someone paid $11M+ to win football games who's said winning isn't his top priority, and who still won't use every tool at his disposal

[Tigerillustrated.com @TIinClemson]

🏈 The shoulda-beens and could've-beens have exhausted their shelf life at this point. You only get so many opportunities to fix a problem before someone takes that power from you. #CLEMSON

2025 after Duke loss from Coach Swinney
“If Clemson’s tired of winning, they can send me on my way, but I’m gonna go somewhere else and coach.”

Since that day, Clemson is 5-4 vs. Power 4 teams.

Coach, I don't pretend to speak for the Clemson fanbase....

But it's not the winning I'm tired of.

It's the losing.

[WestZone Tiger @WestZoneTiger]

I'm concerned there's only one way to turn it around at this point...

[Chapel Fowler @chapelfowler]

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney says the fact they've lost so much at home recently "bothers me" and hurts a little extra. Dabo: "But we'll turn it around"
