VIDEO: Working with Community Activation Teams, @KCCAUG is carrying out subsidized latrine emptying within city communities. Targeting households that can not afford proper emptying services, this reduces open discharge of feacal sludge. #KCCAatWork#Weyonje#BuilditUseitEmptyit
We carried out another successful clean-up activity in Mutungo 1 & 2 Zones, Nakawa Division, led by the Deputy Executive Director @KCCAUG@BenonKigenyi as the Chief Cleaner.
Our teams cleaned drainage channels, cleared dumpsites, inspected toilets, and worked alongside the enforcement team to promote and enforce proper sanitation and hygiene practices within the community.
We proudly showcased innovative sanitation and waste management solutions at the 10th Procurement Summit and Exhibition. Among the highlights was the Pupu Pump, which demonstrated the journey @KCCAUG has taken to improve the technology for emptying and to advance FSM.
We also showcased proper solid waste management practices, emphasizing the importance of sorting waste at source to reduce the amount of garbage generated and promote recycling and reuse wherever possible.
Join @KCCAUG this weekend for a massive community clean-up exercise in Central Division as we strive to keep Kampala clean, healthy, and livable. Come, let us all be a part of the Weyonje spirit by keeping our communities clean and safe. #Weyonje#ForALiveableCity
We successfully conducted a community clean-up in Kazo–Angola Parish, Kawempe Division, focusing on solid waste management and toilet inspections through intensive door-to-door sensitization.
Landlords with full toilets were linked to licensed service providers for safe emptying, while garbage was collected across the area. We also emphasized the importance of sorting waste at source to promote sustainable waste management.
We’ve just concluded an insightful exchange visit to Give Love in Kamwokya, Central Division. It’s inspiring to see how fecal sludge and solid waste are being transformed into manure, proof that waste can truly be a resource when managed well.
At @KCCAUG, we continue to champion the Reuse component of the 3Rs as a sustainable approach to managing waste in our communities. Give Love is a great example of how innovation can turn everyday waste into something valuable
While progress is being made, there is a strong need for continued sensitization and community involvement. Together, we can do more. We therefore call upon all residents to join @KCCAUG in the journey to make Kampala a cleaner, healthier, and #livablecity#Weyonje
We carried out a massive waste excavation over the weekend in Namugoona Zone, Lubya Parish, Lubaga Division. The exercise brought together the community for a clean-up, toilet emptying, garbage collection, waste sorting sensitization, and door-to-door public health inspections.
The @Weyonje spirit is about turning waste into value. We joined a high-level training at @Makerere under the CPUg project to advance solutions for a cleaner, healthier Kampala.
