@Iron_Spike actually, you can let your jibs/staysails farther out by letting out tension from the sheet winches, just like the lateen! it's a bit more work to manage since it has two sheets but the principle is the same

and you can even do some funky stuff by tightening the wrong sheet :D

I currently DM a campaign with 4 friends, and I'm the one who introduced most of them to the hobby and herds them together every few weeks.
