How can communities hold governments accountable for climate finance? @WFD_Kenya recently brought together CSOs and County Assembly actors in Embu, Machakos & Makueni to strengthen oversight of FLLoCA-funded projects.

Participants validated practical proactive audit tools, including field checklists, tracking sheets, reporting templates and petition templates, to strengthen transparency and accountability in county-level climate finance.

CSOs in Embu, Machakos & Makueni are now better equipped to analyse county budgets through a gender and inclusion lens. @WFD_Kenya recently delivered a Gender Responsive Budgeting training for civil society organisations across the three counties.

Participants strengthened their skills in budget analysis, evidence-based advocacy and engagement with County Assemblies, helping ensure county budgets better respond to the needs of women, youth, persons with disabilities and other marginalised groups.
