every time you replace “this is hard” with “what’s the first step?” you shift brain activity from your amygdala (fear) to your prefrontal cortex (problem-solving).
that’s neuroplasticity in real time.
Proud to share my latest project: a 65 hour exposure of the shockwave from a supernova. You’re seeing it rip through other star systems.
Any planets within 10LY of the star would have been destroyed!
I knew it would be fascinating. I didn’t know it would be so beautiful.
we are so goddamn lucky to have our eyes witness something like that. a guy with a nice camera, the foresight, and the modern internet to carry that vision as it was seen right into our laps. more than 100 billion people lived and died without seeing that once, ever
Malinois as a service dog is kinda hilarious
That wheelchair user will never need to use a mobility van again
why? That Mali could probs get him to his destination faster than one 😂
Part of a real photo I took using a backyard telescope. Space is amazing
This is a small crop from new work I’m releasing this week! A 65-hour exposure of a supernova shockwave 😱
I’ll be sending it to email subscribers first with more info about how it was captured 👀
Real-time sunset from orbit. They only last about 8 seconds from start to finish, but seeing 16 per day makes up for it! Timelapses through the transition can be challenging as the exposure overwhelms the camera's dynamic range.
My detailed 65-hour exposure of a supernova focuses on a shockwave. I just wrapped it up, will be sharing it publicly Thursday assuming my proofs look good when they arrive next week.
You can see it in this photo of the milky way I took in 2023...
