Crimson Desert got another update, and this time its the biggest one yet by far. This is where I expected the game would be after 12 months of patches, not barely 1 month.
Featuring:
- Revamped inventory interface, categories have been added
- Difficulty settings added in Easy/Medium/Hard
- Graphics upgrade in better distant scenery
- Controls can now be remapped fully
- Bosses are no longer immune during certain attacks and some attack patterns have been readjusted
- Added the "Sturdy gatherables" chest, which can be placed at the player house to store 1,000 items
- Added sorted storage at the player house with a host of new, specific chests each made for a purpose.
- Goods sold by Greymane merchants at the camp have a 10% discount
- You can now change the entire player house to a different layout, new layouts are unlocked with upgrading the camp
- Abyss artifacts are now earned when observing skills
- Regular Abyss gears, insects, fish, and animals are now stackable
- Added birds as pets that you can find out in the world
- Added 5 new types of cats
- You can now change the name of your owned horses and pets
- New weapons and armor have been added
- Added a secret shop in Pororin that sells pet outfits
- Cloudcart is now functional finally so you can summon it after crafting it
- Added new livestock vendors around the world
- Improved NPCs to show a wider variety of reactions to their surroundings
- Speed of examine plus speed of rotating and pushing things has been incrased
- You can now throw weapons while dual wielding
- Minimap now displays north/south/east/west
- Faction quest menu now tells you how many quests are available at a glance
- Map now has a filter/search button
- Grouped items in the inventory now have a unique icon to distinguish them at a glance
- Damiane and Oongka now have a focused force palm skill, same as Kliff
- Tumbleweeds have been added to desert regions
There is so much more that this update adjusts and changes that it would make this post even longer, but these are the main changes and yeah... the fact this is all happening just barely a month after launch is insane.
Pearl Abyss is working at an unprecedented pace, this is the state I thought the game would get to after a full year of patches, not a month. I highly recommend checking out CD now if you haven't yet!
Crimson Desert has shared a development update, they are working on the following HUGE features:
- Difficulty options (Easy/Medium/Hard)
- Improved distant scenery, so things far away appear more natural
- Boss Re-runs
- Reset enemy forts/camps for endgame
- New skills to allow Oongka/Damiane to use Axiom Force and Force Palm, making them more playable.
- Hide back weapons and shield
- New outfits including making some of the currently unuseable ones useable
- Specialized Storages: Wardrobe, Food, Gatherables and Collections
- You can use things in food storage right away in cooking without taking them out

An MMO developer updating a singleplayer game at that MMO speed is basically unheard of, Crimson Desert is very quickly listening to feedback and becoming a better game every week. Insane effort!
Okay, since April Fools' is now over, it's time to post something more serious (sorry, Qrko!)...
Our third free DLC for Tainted Grail is now live! Enter Merlin’s Tomb, a brand-new endgame dungeon. Complete unique trials and face the tainted version of a man who was once the greatest sage. 💀🧙
If you're playing on Steam, just add the DLC to your library for free. On all other platforms, it has been introduced as a part of the base game.
Alongside Merlin's Tomb, patch 1.21 has landed, featuring various improvements.

Played 26hrs of Crimson Desert this weekend.
The tldr is that I adore this game.
It ticks all the boxes for me, and I’ve enjoyed every minute.
Not going to get sucked into the discourse, I like the game and I find it fun.
More below but ignore if you aren’t interested! 👇
Impressions of Crimson Desert after 12 hours:
- People were right: This game gets MASSIVELY better after 6-8 hours of playtime, Chapter 3 onwards is a massive step up in terms of quest quality and finally lets you loose to explore as you get past the onboarding phase, I am loving it.
- Played 6+ hours straight today and I am itching to play even more, Exploration is a blast and has some of the best sense of discovery I've felt in a game since Elden Ring, this is an incredibly well made open world that I want to explore more so badly. I've found so many cool places that I don't wanna spoil
- Controls feel natural at this point as well, aside from square being both interact and jump, I am okay with them atp.
- I adore how interactive the world feels, the NPCs are not "alive" but they do sell that illusion fairly well, I have spent a ton of time stealing and sneaking into castles to take all their food for heals, and weapons to sell. Also spent a ton of time doing bounties which feel identical to the Red Dead 2 bounties, a great system.
- Main quests have actually gotten fun, with interesting scenarios rather than the generic fetch quests that drag down the first 6 hours of this game. The writing is still not good but I am at least interested in the idea of the plot now.
- "Reed devil" and "Excavator" boss fights were both fantastic, It's super important to stock up on food before taking on bosses for heals however, so I am now buying food at every possible chance
- Side quests quality varies but for the most part, they really are the highlight of the game for me.
- While the game is beautiful in clear weather, it feels like most of the time its overcast and the visuals look really drab and quite poor in this weather. Also rain is far too rare in my opinion.
- I have not had any game breaking bugs so far, been a smooth experience aside from 1 bug where my Kliff is seemingly never tired, so I am barred from sleeping in my game for some reason.
Literally itching to play more tomorrow, Crimson Desert is a flawed game but god does it hit that open world exploration itch for me so well. It's absolutely worth sticking with if you love these types of games!
I rode my horse off a cliff breaking its legs and then had to carry the sheep down a cliff on foot. Fell off the cliff. When i finally got the sheep home the kid told me I had the wrong fucking sheep.
Clocked 7hrs in Crimson Desert today, mostly goofing around not doing the story.
This game is made for me.
Totally understand all the criticisms, and I agree that the game is not for everyone but…
This is my dream game.
Loving it. Will update thoughts after the weekend.
We are incredibly humbled to share that #CrimsonDesert has sold through 2 million copies worldwide. Thank you so much to our fans, community, and everyone who has joined us in Pywel. John Linneman (Digital Foundry) is raving about Crimson Desert:
"What I’ve experienced here is possibly the most impressive open-world environment I’ve ever seen in any game ever.
The last time I could experience something like this was maybe Red Dead Redemption 2, and this goes a step further in the sense that you’re given like unprecedented freedom to just do whatever the heck you want."

Daniel Vavra - the legendary director behind Mafia, Mafia 2 and founder of Warhorse Studios who created Kingdom Come Deliverance 1 & 2 is stepping down from game development at Warhorse Studios.
He will be heading a KINGDOM COME movie/TV adaptation, Best of luck to the GOAT🫡
The gods are silent. Rivellon bleeds. New powers stir.
Built by the team who brought you Baldur's Gate 3, Larian Studios unchains its ambitions to bring you an RPG with greater breadth & depth than ever before.
It took forever to get here, but Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is DONE! A new bar has been set for open world RPGs for the first time since The Witcher 3.
Lastly: LET WARHORSE MAKE A DAMN LORD OF THE RINGS GAME.
