Year 2 commemorated Remembrance Day by finding out facts about WWI , making a poppy, examining postcards sent home from Belgium in 1917, singing WWI songs and holding a 2 minutes silence at 11am.
Year 2 have been singing sea shanties and designing their own pirate flags. They’ve all worked really hard to turn their designs into printing blocks ready to print their flags next week. Well done Year 2!
Year 2 have been reading Flat Stanley as their class story. Today we popped to the postbox to post Flat Stanley just the Lambchop family did in the chapter 3. Such fun!
This afternoon, Year 2 have worked really hard to create their own magnificent monarchs board game. They have used lots of facts they have learnt over the topic! We can't wait to play the finished products!
Year 2 are trialling a new online reading record called GoRead - all children in Year 2 are being sent home with a letter and more information on how to set your account up! If you have questions do not hesitate to ask!
This afternoon, we have dissected plants to have a closer look at the parts they are made up of. We looked closely at the petals, stem and leaves. The children understood that these plants once had roots before they were cut from the ground and sold in the supermarket.
