Year 3 are very lucky that we have Emma from the music hub come and teach us every week. We have been learning how to play different tunes on the glockenspiels and xylophones, as well as creating body percussion sequences.
In history this term, we have been learning about The Stone Age. We have been using different sources to find out what life was like in the different periods.
3H have written their letters to yellow class at @MorpethAllSaint and they are ready to post tonight. We loved reading your letters and writing our replies. We can't wait for you to receive them!
3H can’t wait to receive them and learn all about our new friends in a different city. We can’t wait to reply and tell you all about the different cultures we have at Whiteways!😆
Parents welcome meeting on Wednesday 18th September at 2:50pm in 3H. For the adults not attending, all the children will be in 3KL and need to be collected from there at 3:10pm.
We hope you all have had a fabulous summer! We have had a fantastic first week back, and we can’t wait for all the amazing learning we are going to do. We also have some new class names; 3H is the Lilies class, and 3KL is the Tulips class.
What a wonderful year we have had with lots of exciting visits and activities in school. The children are looking forward to another exciting year in Y4!
This term in RE Y3 have been looking at a variety of beliefs and religions to answer the question “how and why do people try and make the world a better place?” We have had some fantastic discussions over the past 4 lessons, and celebrated the differences of each view.
Miss Hudson's reciprocal reading group are absolutely fantastic readers. We are currently enjoying "The owl who was afraid of the dark". They are loving finding out what adventures Plop is going to go on next to discover the dark.
We have been to Weston Park today to learn more about the Ancient Egyptians. The children were lucky enough to have hands on experience with primary sources! What a wet but fun day!
Y3 absolutely loved their visit to Western Park Museum, even though we had to walk in the rain! We completed an Ancient Egyptian workshop and then got to explore the rest of the museum. We had lots and lots of fun!
Miss Hudson’s literacy group have started focusing on the book “Goldilocks and the three bears” by Lauren Child. We have started by looking at adjectives and created WANTED posters using evidence from the book.
