@C2Antiquity@Alex_Ortodoxie Cmon big dog, just admit that the early church gathered in shopping malls to hear a bidness man give his 2 cents on the KING JAMES BIBLE!!
@elhomun1@originalddawg@Orthodixie@Michaeldudufudu@JayDyer He's not critiquing the films for not being orthodox... Jay is litterally analyzing the films and explaining the symbolism, philosophy, and imagery the film is conveying. He's not supporting the messaging, he's explaining the films intent. You're misinterpreting the point.
@BahBahBased@blacknredtext Orthodoxy is the only faith that holds to monarchical trinitarianism. Are you saying the church instituted by Christ and spread by the apostles is damned but generic protestantism that came from a schism of a schism is the 1 true church? Ya I'm sure your mason founders were right
@BahBahBased@blacknredtext π€£ says the kid whos belief system predominantly worships israel. Btw protestantism can't account for the bible, nominalist philosophy led to rampant atheism in west, and lack of chuch authority has eroded ur moral systems to the point of gay trans being normal. Enjoy π
@GrandpaFishes@JayDyer@GodLogic_GL As scripture says the church is the pillar and foundation of truth, truth objective, therefore there is an objectively true church established by Christ. I would ask what have you researched so far? Feel free to DM for videos, lectures, readings, etc. I saved lots of these topics
@pureMetatron Hey Metatron you did say Jesus rebuked them for being too strict and so I'm only clarifying by providing an Orthodox view of the events. I am not clergy though so I recommend reaching out to a priest or visit a catechism class to inquire.
@pureMetatron This is why in Holy Orthodoxy we have Oikonomia. State courts are based off christian law & just like bishops we have judges who look at the spirit of the law to make rulings. Look into Orthodoxy, you won't be disappointed! Ecclesiology, Theology, & Philosophy will bring you home
@pureMetatron@pureMetatron Jesus was not against the law as He was the one who gave Moses the law. His rebuking of pharisees was about how during the 2nd temple period they didn't have Gods presence in the temple so to bring God back they were legalistic instead of following spirit of the law
@stoopidminidisc@ThoughtfulCafe@darwintojesus@Askwhyisit You're bassically saying "what if my ungrounded idea of the universe were true? Then God wouldn't need to exist, right mr christian man?".. No, you're describing something with no philosophical framework for existing. This here is why the west abandoned philosophy for impiricism.
@stoopidminidisc@ThoughtfulCafe@darwintojesus@Askwhyisit Because you cannot have a universe where transcendentals exist like the laws of logic unless they are grounded in a divine mind outside of space and time. Reread everything that has been said to you. Your restated question has been answered multiple times.
@stoopidminidisc@ThoughtfulCafe@darwintojesus@Askwhyisit I don't grant a God being possible that grounds rape as the good. My argument for that was showing that God causing a disordered system is illogical and cannot exist. The Orthodox position is that evil is our departure from God's will/created order. Evil doesn't have ontology.
@stoopidminidisc@ThoughtfulCafe@darwintojesus@Askwhyisit We can go back and forth on this for awhile but eventually you'll get to transcendentals. The issue you're going to keep having is you cannot ground universals to anything within our own universe. It must be unchanging and outside of our universe.
@stoopidminidisc@ThoughtfulCafe@darwintojesus@Askwhyisit Doesn't work, what is the idea of order being grounded in? This would be subjective based on preference. One person's sense of order differs from anothers so you will end up with conflicting ideals. Even if with the same ideals you will get conflicting means to the goal.
