If the goalposts continue to shift then what is the point of capitalism.

“Work a full time, 40 hour a week job to afford to live” is now “get 2-3 jobs to make rent and still be incapable of saving anything, because rent/groceries/utilities/gas will eat up every cent you make”

“Go to school to get an education to make a decent living” is now “you were stupid for going to school to get an education to get a job, everyone knows it’s trades or who you know” (that is, quite literally, the exact opposite of what we were taught by people we trusted)

You cannot look at my generation + the younger generations and call them stupid and lazy and useless for not wanting to work 80 hour weeks to barely scrape by, when we did exactly what we were told would give us a decent life. The world collapsed on us while we were trying to make our way within it.

If every single time we get fucked out of the ability to afford to live, we are told we need to do literally nothing but work all day every day at 2-3 jobs, but we cannot get hired anywhere because the job market has also mostly collapsed, and we can’t use the education the same generation (our parents) told us was the ONLY direction to a decent life… yet now call us dumb for getting… what would you like us to do.

The problem is not that we are actually stupid and lazy and dumb. The problem is that we were priced out of the cost of basic necessities, and instead of thinking the state of the world needs changed, you tell us to work 2-3 low wage jobs that we cannot even get because entry level jobs mostly cease to exist now.

I love how any time you say something about Trump or his administration there is someone in your comments telling you how stupid democrats/Biden were too and it’s like… yup. You’re right. “But what about Laken Riley??” Laken Riley’s murder was tragic and evil. But her murderer stood trial, was found guilty, and is currently serving life with no possibility of parole.

Alex Pretti’s murderer’s identities have been concealed. We have seen that federal agents are able to act with immunity, and officials are protecting the identities of the culprits. It’s likely that justice will not be served, as the narrative is being painted that Alex was a “domestic terrorist” for…… holding his cell phone, protecting a woman violently shoved to the ground by a federal agent, shielding her with his body while being blasted with pepper spray, and legally carrying a firearm which he did not touch or brandish throughout the entire encounter.

Using Laken Riley as a pawn in your argument game is irrelevant. Justice was served. Justice has not, and likely will not be served for Alex and his family. The state will defend their desire to use lethal force against anyone they wish by demonizing and propagandizing the victims to avoid any and all accountability, up to and including walking back your 2A right.

When even the NRA abandons the side of the current administration, I think it’s pretty clear that people are waking up to the lies and manipulation. Using Laken Riley as a whataboutism is meaningless. She was murdered by a deeply evil man who will rot in a cell.

Alex was murdered by agents of the state who are being shielded, protected, and defended, while our president makes statements alluding to legal gun ownership justifying a death sentence.

If a homeless woman got pregnant, the far right would force her to give birth. They would claim to care about the fetus. Yet as soon as birth occurs, they'll fight equally as hard to make sure that woman and her newborn didn't have access to any kind of welfare. No food stamps, no wic, no medical, no neonatal care, no child care, no cash aid, and no housing assistance. If you're preborn, you're fine. If you're preschool, you're fucked. That's really how they think.
