I guess the BBC didn't feel the need to buy the domain way back in 1999 since they had their own dedicated subdomain for the Doctor Who website. The right-hand screenshot is taken from the same day https://t.co/3HBGkT8SF9 was registered (presumably by Big Finish).

@mooproxy @CrashedOnDido People misunderstood that as Big Finish taking on extra debt to stay afloat. But banks don't give out loans without due diligence and they're not going to lend to a company that's going under and likely to default.

Big Finish's public filings indicated it took out a business loan, which is what companies do when they need capital to launch new projects. It's very normal and actually indicative of good financial health for a company.
