Esta guerra silenciosa contra los cristianos nigerianos es desgarradora, pero no es una tragedia aislada.

En las regiones del Cinturón Medio de Nigeria, especialmente en estados como Plateau, los ataques de militantes fulani contra comunidades cristianas se han vuelto crónicos. Organizaciones como Genocide Watch y la USCIRF calculan que estos grupos han asesinado a decenas de miles de cristianos en los últimos años, quemando aldeas enteras y declarando sus tierras como parte de un califato imaginario. Las cifras son escalofriantes: solo entre 2019 y 2023, los fulani fueron responsables del 55% de las muertes cristianas registradas. En 2025 y 2026 la violencia se intensificó. Aldeas arrasadas, iglesias incendiadas, familias enteras exterminadas.

El gobierno nigeriano habla de conflictos por recursos entre ganaderos y agricultores; sin embargo, las víctimas y sus defensores lo llaman persecución religiosa sistemática.

Mientras tanto, en ese patio pobre y de barro, la joven madre intenta recomponer los pedazos de su vida con lo que queda. Su fe es la única luz en medio de la oscuridad y su bebé, su única fuente de alegría. Una vida que nació corriendo, que llegó al mundo entre balas y plegarias.

Historias como estas, nos recuerdan que la fe muchas veces nos va costar todo. ¡Sí, todo!
