All our amphibians need homes. If you don't have a pond, why not consider digging one, ready for them in the spring. Even a small pond will make a wonderful home for frogs and newts.

We've had a great couple of meeting with Holymoorside & Walton Parish Council, who are getting toad signs for the village. Thank you to them and the District Council for taking the time to meet us.
We've been VERY busy, despite the lack of posts! Just before Christmas, we planted wildflowers plug plants in the turning circle area - look out for the white labels and please keep off the area so they can grow!
We've finally begun our autumn/winter projects! Phase 1: sowing wildflower seeds to create plug plants for next year. All of them are useful for bees and other pollinators.
@DerbysARG@froglifers Thanks so much. I also need a couple for the crossing at Flash Dam near my home - I'll get in touch separately. Sorry for the slow reply - just noticed it!
We've begun our first project with this years @WHPEco and are trying to get signs for the village to help our migrating toads next spring. We're writing to the parish council and will keep you posted! @DerbysARG@froglifers
This is an amazing resource. If every family in our school did a bit of this, nature across our area would be grateful. Watch the videos and see how easy (and cheap) it is to make a difference! https://t.co/5lSm7zYwGz
It's the annual Big Butterfly Count over the next fortnight. Why not spend some time with nature and help scientists study how these declining creatures are faring this year? https://t.co/RNZIJhDeof
Looking for something to do at half term? Why not try and find Derbyshire's different bumblebees and explore new places with this brilliant book?

You might have noticed some signs starting to go up around school - they have been hand-made by the Eco-committee to highlight our conservation areas and look great!
Our solitary bees have emerged for another year! Please keep off the bank next to the main gate so they can live undisturbed. They are harmless and fascinating - why not take a look as you pass? Well done to Olivia for capturing a video!

This is one of my favourite bits of Derbyshire and at its best in May - you'll see thousands of wildflowers and hear singing skylarks. It's an amazing place!
